There's a local kid here, surfs a 14' board. Waves at the moment in Sydney are just perfect 2' on calm autumn days for us. Temp is still warm in and out. I've been out everyday this week before work in magic conditions. This guy is a great surfer, check him out on this 14' log. French Fred, you'll love this.

No that’s Ryan Burch and it’s Encinitas, California. That’s at least 3 year old footage.

Oops, wrong guy. My son showed me a bunch of them last night incl Ryan and I've mixed them up. There's another shaper up from us, same age doing same stuff. Nevertheless, it's great footage.

Cool, thanks for sharing. Burch rips on all manor of boards that he shapes himself. There's some footy of him killing Indo lefts on his assymetrical shortboards. He started out as a competetive shortboarder and later got into logging which is interesting.
Rincon was fun/good on Monday, glassy and barrelling. Someone in the water mentioned it looked like it was trying to do a Kirra impression. Lots of sand out there from a flat winter.

Lou, thanks for posting that. Those assymetrics look incredible, but that wave - where is that? You can see how that surf style framed early skating. A few of our extended family make logs down here, huge things like small boats. Double glass, double stringer. Just don't get one in your mouth!

You're welcome out anytime Fred; last of the Sydney summer surf, this was a week ago when we managed to get all the family out for an hour before going out to dinner. Water is still warm it's our local beach, Freshwater just north of Manly. We don't often all get out together. The 2 boards on the right and 1 on the left are shaped by my daughter's fiancee, Abe Shapes. Huge logs, double-glassed. I'm on a 7'6" Takayama scorpion, not ideal for 2' waves. Just about to buy something else. All the others are 8 or 9'. It was a pretty good evening all round.
