No point fighting amongst ourselves. An improved 8 is good for us, and for BDS as a business. It's a win/win.

Jay,
try not to break your arm patting yourself on the back.

never really tried an 8 wheeler.  they look like they are super fun how do you turn the damn things?  I imagine you have to shift your weight to the outside on any turn is there a lot of foot shimmy action?  aw screw it I am gonna go build one and find out.

Won't you be getting into popsicle wheelbase then? and would that help.

The wheelbase wasn't short enough to really notice in a bad way. Possibly the side cut provided leverage (you can see the dusty prints from where I stood) along with the slightly reduced wheelbase did give it some snappier response -mostly coming down off the wall.

I'd increase the amount or length of lift on the nose. I did some small ramp spine transfers on it and it felt good but a little more nose would seem to help (add it or change the truck set-up/wheelbase).

The side cuts didn't mess with grabbing for airs or grinds, it's still fine. Kinda wierd thiing is that the boards are already so heavy I couldn't tell any real weight reduction, but it must be there! I didn't do any tailtaps or tail stalls on it (HOLT does them KILLER! ), but I think it should help hold onto the coping. I like the tail as is, maybe a little wider though.

It did feel more responsive and pulled in after grinds or R&R's better. Ummm... that's definitely something! It's actually doing some things I hoped it would!

I'd love to see Holt, Ron, Jeffe, or some other guys try something like this and get a broader opinion base.

I think it sounds and looks killer, longer nose kick is a great idea too. perhaps a fish shape would be worth trying as well. Keep up the good work.

WRONG.

Way to be overly negative.

It seems to be the wave of the future...negativism...besides, It's alot easier than just flowing positive stoke.

And Jay is one of a kind. I have seen him document ground breaking moves on an 8, that have never been done before...RnR's, ollies, front truck grinds.....this guy IS 8 wheel progression personified.
And he's so humble that he doesn't want to make it all about him.

 It's quite refreshing.

Outstanding riding!
All I can do on an 8 is kickturns, carves, and berts.
Love the side cuts, like customizing shapes.
