Eggman had some magnesium Tracker Halftracks, but they weren't for sale, and I can't afford to convince him to sell. I don't know why someone ( BDS would be nice ) dosen't make a hollow core wheel. Most of the 'thane never gets used anyway...

Weren't the Aircore Pig wheels supposed be light? I don't see that they are in production anymore, so maybe it was just a gimmick? Not sure they made a 60mm in those either. The problem you see a lot with small diameter cored wheels is separation of the urethane from the core. Those are usually pretty hard wheels. I wonder if using a lower duro would help with that problem??

Just have the core plastic have small "loops" that stick out, and let the urethane flow through, that'll never let go.

Didn't tracker do some Ultralight Mids, the ones with the composite baseplates? I think ouch had some on a deck. You could use some newschool wheels that have a smaller diameter and width, that would reduce the weight a bit. Autobahns maybe, some of them have big plastic cores that reduce the amount of urethane on the outside thus reducing weight.

Yes, I was kinda thinking about making a real effort to lighten it up. Tracker made the plastic baseplates and I've seen some old wheels with the lightweight cores... just wondering if they are as fast.

Yeh...you could, at the very least, swap the baseplates out for the plastic Trackers. What about Bennet...those should be light trucks, especially with the plastic baseplates?

The Bennett's of the old days cracked frequently. The tracker ones might help, then light, fast wheels are the hot ticket too.

I thought maybe with the way the 8's are set up, some of the weight/strain on the trucks might be relieved? I don't know...my 8 experience, so far, has been less than favorable.
