With all due respect, Alva is great and a true pioneer, but

let's all keep in mind that this is the BDS forum...I know that Wes and Rich would never say anything against posting about TA, and I'm not saying that we shouldn't,let's just keep things in check and police ourselves...

That being said, one of my hi-lites was being invited to TA's reception in '87,'88??? at the ,now defunct, Sunspot Hotel...Great times!!!

Now it seems a bit bloated and like it's been traced a hundred times.
New on top and original on the bottom.

What does AWA stand for anyway?

Bernie

Why is the reissue different?

so...  is this just supposed to be a BDS worship site or a skate site sponsored by the legends (BDS)???  I hope they wouldn't mind endless babble about the days (and people) that they came from too and that brought us all to where we are today, and still keep us dreamin' about yesterday.  Talk about Alva, Salba, Russ Howell, Eric Bates, Freddie Desota, Venice, Big "O", Nude Bowl,  Dog Bowl, Worm Bowl, Breaker ditch, whoever/whatever... it's skareboarding, it's   in our blood!!!  (Maybe I should relax?).

Pimp, no way would I think you are showing off.  We all know you have a great collection, so let 'er rip.  Show us that eye candy.  We all love it.

About the questions about what is okay to post, all I know is that this is called the Collectors Corner.  I think it was really just meant to allow the forum members to share their board collections with the forum.  Personally, I don't have a problem with an "all things Alva" thread, but I share Pimp's concern about what might be considered going too far.  Which is why I asked in my original post if I might be committing a faux pas by starting the thread in the first place.  Was there a reason an Alva Corner thread had not been started before?

I'm sure Pimp is right.  Wes and Rich are so gracious, they probably would not pose any objection to anything posted here.  Still, I think we need to remember that Alva Skates is a competing entity.  While probably none of us intend to promote sales of Alva products on the BDS forum, we may unwittingly end up doing just that.  On the other hand, if the Collectors Corner is about sharing board collections, then is it okay to post up your collection of Alva reissues or other contemporary Alva decks?  I guess I'm not sure.  Certainly, a lot of forum members have stated their preference for this or that non-BDS product at one time or another.  As to Alva stuff that is out of production, it shouldn't be a problem posting that stuff, should it?

@ lowcab

Definitely agree on the logo thing.  The original logo was so much better than the reissue.
