Q...you can do clinical scientific bench testing for eons. Nothing replaces practical and actual use testing!!!!

I did a ton of testing myself in the past several months. Although i couldn't skate from Oct to Jan 1, I have tried about 6 or 7 of the top skate bearings out there. My testing was done with about 8 different wheels (from 62mm to 65mm - 95A to 100A) and these different bearings. Some wheels were faster with certian bearings. Seemed to be that the big diff was if the wheel had a center plastic or other core.

The most prevelent condition I found in my personal testing on masonite ramps (one is like 12 tall) and a sweet concrete bowl......was that no matter what wheel I put the Oust Moc 9's in.......the were the fastest!!! Quick to get up to speed and keep it up. Some of the bearings were very close...and hard to say that they were much slower....I just felt that the Oust 9's were the best.

I wasn't thinking bench testing.

We'll see if I actually do something. But I was thinking of getting the DC Outlaws involved.

Arab,
If done correctly, the riders would not know what bearing they were using, removing any bias from any rider. They don't need to be the best riders, just consistent. Statistical significance can be increased with an increased sample size. (Translation: If you get more riders to participate, and you get them to take lots of runs with each bearing, then your results are more valid.)

I think Hugh R. did something similar, I gotta go read up what he did and make sure I'm not just repeating things...

If I get it going, I'll be sure to post results, because lots of people are interested.

I've knowin about Oust bearing for some time now. Jesse told me about them about a year ago. I've talked to Karl on the phone a few times and this guy is Thomas Edison I swear. Z sports will have in stock by March 5th.

A very interesting video, and I've skated most of the bearings that are commercially available over the past 45 years, including those that are supported here.
No skin in this game~
Only parks/pools and the occasional ramp. Oust #9, and I'm 205lbs and always keep one wheel touching. When it's not snowing, skate 2-4x per week.
I really do notice a difference~

I've tried many bearings ,... in the last 10 years my top is OUST Moc 9 , Also ceramics bones are pretty amazing. But as regular use , I have to say OUST Moc 9 !!!  Had Rockin Ron's too , Ceramics and regular steel . Excellent for the price. But for my personal standart I'm pretty happy with OUST Moc 9 .
