Here we go again folks it opening day for B A S E B A L L.  Now as you can see I am a Mariners fan. Have been and always will be a Mariners fan. I remember  April of 1977, I was eleven years old, the newly formed Mariners were playing there first game ever, and it was against the California Angels.

Mariners lost 7 to ZIP.... and went on to end there inaugural season a disappointing  64-98.  At eleven I new if I was going to be a mariners fan I needed to grow some thick skin. That was 32 years ago today. They have never made it to a world Series YET! but they are MY TEAM and always will be.

OK so lets here it, who are the baseball fans, and who is your team?

Atlanta Braves. My parents let me skip school to go to the ticker tape parade with a neighbor after the 1991 World Series (even though they didn't win). I still have nightmares sometimes about Kent Hrbek  pulling Ron Gant off first base in Game 6.

Ah yes the Twins I remember that series. The twins are considered our home team. since they are the next state over so I usually try to get to MN when the Mariners are in town. 6 hour drive. Atlanta Plays There first game tomorrow night at the Phillie's. I'll pull for em since your NL and Were AL.

BREWERS!!

The teams mentioned so far have connections to Milwaukee.  The Seattle Pilots became the Milwaukee Brewers in 1970.  And the Milwaukee Braves became the Atlanta Braves in 1967, I think?  So, thank you Seattle and fooey on you Atlanta.

Actually, the Braves played last night and beat the Phillies. The Rookie CF, Schaefer, hit a home run in his first major league at bat. It's good to have baseball to watch again.

Actually the first game I ever went to was the Brewers. My Mom is from Milwaukee, so my Grandpa took me to a Brewers game when I was about eight, when we were on vacation visiting them. That game is what got me into baseball and the Brewers were my Fav's until the mariners came in.
We frame a lot of sports Memorabilia So I have a Brewers 8x10 of Ted Simmons, Rollie Fingers, and Robin Yount all three have signed it and it is PSA/DNA certified. just need time custom frame it I will custom laser cut the old MB Baseball and mitt logo in the mat.

When I was in high school, 70's Skater was my best friend, and his dad was the coolest dad. He was the Chaplain for the Brewers when they played at home on Sundays, as well as the Packers when they played in Milwaukee. I was so gassed to be able to have breakfast with Bart Star while he was coaching. And many Sunday mornings hanging out in the locker room watching these guys meticulously wrapping bubble gum around their chewing tobacco....great days.

PADRES + $40 million team payroll - Jake Peavey & $11 million of that 40 when he's traded + whatever minor leaguers they get for him = A LONG SEASON!
I'm thinking I'm sporting my Giants gear this year! Although not much better!
I think I'll go build another skateboard.

In the late 60's or so our next door neighbor was a pro baseball player named Denny Lemaster. He was the nicest guy to my brother and I. He used to build little balsa wood houses for our train set we had. I think I have since then always been a Atlanta Braves fan. Now living in Houston I am a very mild fan of the Astros.
Pro baseball players back then lived a bit of a different lifestyle than they do now.

Sweet piece of memorabilia right there.  Post up a pic when it's all framed.
