@70sSkater
the 360 dome tail skid doesn't protect the corners at all. since i have the gsII set-up for a cruiser, it is sufficient for tail skid stops. may want to look into a powell tail bone for more coverage.

Thanks Marc. I have a 9" Tailbone, but it is just a little too wide for this deck. I think the 8" Tailbone would leave the corners exposed, like the 360 Dome. Looks like the 8 1'2" Tail Feather that Gordy has is the perfect size. Where can you get Tail Feathers?

hey,
Yeah, the 38 is a versatile deck for sure!
I've tried quite a few set ups and my two favorites
are;
with Indy 149's(or the Tracker 139mm RT-X's)
Black Death Shogos(or the OG Soft Pour Shogos)
Ron's Ceramics
OR,
Indy 215's(or Webb Wide Rides)
Black Death Mini Dubz
Ron's Ceramics
The thing that's great about the 38 is that it "skates shorter"
than it is.(as does the Long Pig as well)

I was so amped I didn't even sk8 on yesterday so I could put it together.
The tiger graphic looks even better in person. My fav BDS graphic.
OG 6tracks on Aggro plates with 100a Dub-Cons & Ceramic Rockets & Khiro bushings. Saving up for a set of Black Death Dragons.
Can't wait to ride it. Maybe tomorrow.....

Well...you can see where I stole the idea for the deck.
Indy 169's painted black (Rustoleum epoxy appliance paint), Black Death Dub Cons, Rockin' Ron Ceramics, Madrid 1/2"-1/4" wedge risers (painted black - same paint) plus black 1/8" riser, Powell tailbone & nosebone, The Firm 14 Rails. My prism tape did not have adhesive, so I had to glue it on.
This is my 3rd Gashead. Its first spin was at Etnies the day before the BDS West Coast Jam. The deck treatment turned some heads at the Jam (Thanks 70sSkater). The Black Death Dub Cons fly .

Introducing: FrankenHead I
Yep.... it's my 2004 Gashead I, which is the most used board in my quiver. I had reduced the wheelbase to 18.25" some time ago, but over the last couple of days I trimmed 1.25" off the nose, and also trimmed the cancer off of the tail corners. I painted the top and the edges, and sealed the nose and tail with "rubber-ized" paint.... supposedly the same stuff that you see on the handles of pliers, channel locks, etc. I wanna see if it helps with splitting. Oh, and I regripped it, which is why I wanted to do the funky paint job. I had not played with spray paint in a long time.... it's very fun!!
Webb Wide Rides with wedged risers front and back, plus 1/4 inch flat risers.
Powell Bowl Bombers PF (Black Death Skull Waves will replace these when they come out).
Ron's steel bearings
Grind King Rims

@ zenklee
Dude, I love it! Must have been a pain in the butt to apply the prism tape without the adhesive backing. Nice job. If I had known you needed some, I could have sent you some of my extra tape. And yeah, that board does get some stares. Very striking with that glow in the dark prism tape.
@ oldkook
After riding this deck for a while I was thinking how good it would be as a park board if it was a little shorter and had a shorter wheelbase. Looks like you got it. I really like the 10.5' width of this board with the W concave, but I would like to try it at 11" and see how that feels. It would be nice if the next Bulldog model (successor to Skull and Cane) would be 10.5" or 11" wide.

70sSkater:
Thanks.
OldKook:
What a great idea. Trim the Gashead down to a smaller size after it's been well ridden. Like 2 boards in 1.
