Was having fun in at a different bowl today when I had a awkward bail & it seems I have fractured my right big toe (can’t put pressure on it & it’s bruised up)
So what I was wondering is if anyone has broken there big toe before & how long was recovery.
I have another 2 weeks vacation & was hoping to go to a few more different bowls before I had to go back to work but I sure that’s over now😩

I broke my big toe during a motorcycle enduro! All the hospital do, NHS (National Health Service) in the U.K, is tape it up to the next toe?
Few weeks later after the swelling and hobbling stops, it's good as new!
Hope this helps.

It really depends on how severe the fracture is. Having shoes on limits how much the toe can move when the break occurs, which may improve your chances for a fast recovery. Remember the big toe is the primary toe for balance control. About 20 years ago I snapped mine while barefoot and it was more severe, with more like 5 - 6 weeks for recovery, wearing a device that keeps you from bending your toes. Hopefully yours is more of the minor break variety.

i broke my fifth metatarsal 8 weeks ago, what sets us apart is that is on the other side of the foot

i refer to it as the most inconvenient injury i've ever had, it will take you offline for at least several weeks
I'm hoping yours is way less inconvenient like GFLX described, get some tape and keep the faith

for what it's worth i was totally offline for about 3 weeks, in a boot, unable to drive my 2 manual transmission cars
my dude recommended surgery, i didn't do it and chose to self heal instead
after 3 weeks i felt good enough for a shoe, at 4 weeks i could drive the truck with it's soft clutch pedal
at 5 weeks i could drive the car with it's very stiff clutch pedal
at 8 weeks i am planning on tentatively rolling my local park next week [thumb]

hope it goes easy for you, most important thing is to not break it again during the process, let it heal

Thx guys for your input , I am sure that I won’t be skating till it’s probably heeled don’t want to come back to early then injury it again , I can’t even put on sneakers!
What’s funny is that I saw a few weeks back salba’s Insta post on his broken big toe from a hung up at Vans & thinking that must be some real odd injury never heard of it skating.
