I think in the Val Surf ads, they have the Big Foot set up with 131s and DT Rock n Rollers or UFOs.  I think 131s were the widest Indys in 1978?  Or maybe 151s?  Anyway, 131s with Rock n Rollers makes for a 9.25" width.  That's just right on a DT Bulldog Design, but a little narrow for a Big Foot.

I have the Traveling Carpaint, which is a Big Foot reissue, set up with 215s and Dragons. That setup is 11.5" wide.  This brings the wheels to the edge in the rear but a lot of wheel hang in the front.  Some of the guys on the Carpaint tour replaced the Dragons with center set Mini Dubs to get a more nimble setup.  Indy 215s with Mini Dubs measure almost 10.5" wide.  One other thing people have done (TonyB, for one) is to put a 215 in the back and a 169 in the front.  There's really no "right" or "wrong" setup. Just, whatever works best for you.

Thanks for the heads up on the Lake Owen ramps.  Let me know when they arrive in GB.  In the meantime, why don't you come down and skate Lake Geneva with us sometime?

I think it took a second for the truck companies to come out with a truck wide enough for the Bigfoot originally or so I've been told, so you needed to used the widest wheel possible for it to be even close to looking right until 169's came out, I personally like the look of the two different width trucks on those type of decks with the narrow pointed front

"My bird can sing"  Dogtown Big Foot II reissue, 215 Indys and Black Death Dragons. Great concave, kinda feels like my Squadron deck.

Does it really only have a wheelbase of 15.5" as advertised?

Would it be possible to re drill for the longer (traditional Bigfoot) wheelbase?
Does the new added concave and kick nose prevent this?

The kick nose limits the ability to stretch the wheelbase unless you want to reverse wedge the front truck. Feels right to me the way it was drilled, but whatever works.
