Carl Ekstrom is a lesser known surf design genius from WindnSea area. I have one of his late 60's transitionals and it is a hoot. He patented asym boards way back then. I have always followed the new crazy shit he's coming up with. Also admire Wegener's wood boards. met him in the early 90's, he filmed us at Rincon on some shitty little day, never saw the footy, but he was part of the crew who made the vid Siestas and Olas back then.

Firewire arbor_koa_dominatorFirewire arbor_wasteland_dominator

The Arbor Dominator Colab Series combines the exotic, sustainably harvested wood veneers that Arbor is renown for, with Firewire's cutting edge RapidFIRE Technology. The result is a unique surfboard with all the performance characteristic inherent in a Firewire. The Colabs will be limited edition boards. The first two offered are the full deck KOA Dominator and Arbor's WASTELAND Dominator, created by hand assembling laser cut pieces of different colored wood to create the design. Both veneers are then attached to the boards via a vacuum process and have the same structural integrity as a standard
RapidFIRE Surfboard.

I like those as well, the one with the disappearing black pin-stripe is very well designed.

Nope, I'd like to though. Just admired them and have been intrigued by Carls design history over time, having one of his late 60's tranisitionals. Amazing how well guys are riding ironing boards these days though.
