Cool Thanks......    Yea I was 14/15, 1st year of high school I was 100% surf bum, just started smoking pot went to the Santa Monica Civic to see Pacific Vibrations 1970 & standing there with my mouth open just looking at that Poster thinking This is the Gnarlest Thing I Ever Seen!     Still Love it!

Wes clearly states that he was stoned half the time so how could he remember anything...I would take anything he says with a grain of salt...but the rest of these guys are the ones you should listen to...THEY know what they're talking about...

I think it's more the way they explode and do flips in the air. You just can't get that same "flip" when shooting tomato paste cans. Same explosion but...no flip.

That flying eye has appeared in so many places and times, Von Dutch was amazing. I have a vid of him swiping a Chevy truck hood and the lettering is going on backwards like he is looking in a mirror to do it but, he is working by eye using a single brush; What about Ed Roth? How much did Ed Roth influence Von Dutch? if at all? A different style to these examples for sure but he led T shirt painting I think...? And surfers bought into that for sure, amazing and wonderful topic!

How about it Wes, "Evolution of the Vibe" ?
It would be cool to get some of your favorite artistic influences on
the record.  As the years pass, people lose track of the cultural context for
a lot of surf - skateboard art/ iconography. 

(Me, I always kinda liked Vaughn Bode's Cheech Wizard in addition to
the artists already mentioned.)

Would someone pour the man a Guinness please?
