You guys are nuts. Surfed in NJ a few times in the winter- great waves, but no fun for me when that ice water shoots down your back between the hood and your suit.
Now, living in Colorado, all my surf trips are to tropical wax locales only. Surf in the winter, skate the remainder of the year.
Has a great trip the the DR 2 weeks ago, going to Panama in a few weeks. Always stoked!

Just a bit of a flight from anywhere else in the world.

I checked out Manly surf and I've got to say what a sweet spot to live! That water is crystal clear!
I bet your son will remember that barrel for the rest of his life! Someday I hope to get one myself!

Someday, when my kids are grown I hope to travel and surf some cool spots. I just hope I'm not too old when they leave....haha!

New Jersey might be the closest place for me to surf an ocean. I've told my wife I might borrow her van for a few days this spring and go on a solo surf trip. Maybe I should have asked because she said no way!! Can't go alone. haha!

Have a good time in Panama!

Mate, Sunday morning and we have just had the best time out here.

Making the most of summer while it's here.

Far out that's cold. Summer is just drawing to a close here, but water is still about 22'c on a good day. Think I'd be surfing in a dry suit if it dropped that much.

Thats awesome! I caught the tail end of that wind swell yesterday morning in Lake Erie!

5.5/4 mil suit and a rashguard
7 mil gloves
5 mil booties with wool socks...haha

Water temp was around 35 degrees. Air about 25.
I lasted about a two hours until my arms gave out.
Best of all, I didn't die from the cold water!

Thanks for posting that 70sSkater!
