Disco shoes. Vans are a huge vashion brand these days you see loads of people wearing them, most don’t have a clue that Vans origins were skateboard shoes. They are just pumping the shoes out there to appeal to everyone.

The quality of vans these days is garbage. I try to pick older/NOS on ebay. Scored two pairs of Alva vans this week alone, one NOS, the other used, but not abused. I know they will hold up better than any new ones produced.

Finally Vans has come out with a decent looking shoe the Ave Pro. But more importantly it's comfortable, breathable and lightweight.

Half-Cabs. Still my favorite skate shoe. Still top of the line quality.
Not a poser shoe.

My last two sets of Half Cabs both failed and ripped at the back of the shoe. And they were the Pro versions. I also had another failure with a standard pair. They were all replaced under warranty, the last time I went for a completely different style which have held up much better.

The quality was total crap so I don’t know how you can say they are top of the line, they are cheaply made and fail in my experience. Out of the 5 pairs of Half Cabs that I have owned only 1 pair wore properly the rest were junk.

TonyB-
Bummed to hear that. I'm skating 5 or 6 hrs per week and the shoes are lasting me maybe 2 years?
Not falling as much as I did a few years ago, but still think they are holding up well. On my 4th pair. And the Pro model as well.
