My OG DTS Bulldog Design has the natural colored bottom and routed wheel wells.  This one on eBay has a yellow bottom and drum sanded wheel wells.  http://cgi.ebay.com/dogtown-bulldog-design-1978_W0QQitemZ7187315267QQcategoryZ16264QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Now that I have looked at other pictures, it appears that the colored bottom decks had drum sanded wheel wells.  Were these color bottomed deck second runs to the natural bottom decks?

Thanks Tony B!

Funny story with the reverse wheel wells...Hopefully Wes will read this and confirm/straighten out what I know...

The company that was grinding the wheel wells, fucked up and did them in reverse!

DT sold them anyway as they seemed to work just fine...

A couple of kids at my elementary school in 78-79 Had blue and white bottom Binaks.  I went with the Alva tri-logo.

Beautiful deck, Skateboardpimp.

I skated one of those decks (exactly like that, black) and regret that I don't have it now, (although it was pretty thrashed). I'm pretty sure I rode it with Indy's and Kryptonic blue 65's (with cores - came in a tube).

Cool story.

I should correct myself then.  My deck has the reverse wheel wells.

So, the colored bottom decks were all fiberglass bottoms?

@Wes
I've seen that deck before and have wondered about the circle background behind the Dog Town cross. On the deck you show it has instead of a solid color it has a faint sort -of ying-yang symbol to it. Was this a variation of the Bulldog or was it an addition to the deck by the owner?
My Bulldog also had the "backwards" wheelwells to it. They worked fine with the size trucks they had then, which were Fulltracks on mine with Snakes so the track was fairly narrow compared to the width of the deck. Made for a cleaner looking edge to the deck.
Wish I still had mine(like almost everyone else).

Why do the top wheel wells on the black deck above look uneven, it looks like one is higher than the other? is that just from the picture or is that just how it came out?

Thanks,

Bryce

That's exactly what I was thinking, the front wheel wells don't look parallel, but it may just be an optical illusion due to the angle of the board.
