Oh boy! Good times are coming back. I no it's only "on paper," but my 401K dropped over $30,000 since May. The good news, this week, it's back up $5,000. That and gas is down to $2.29/gal and dropping. Happy days are here again.......... You can tell that the cocksuckers know it's close to the election and the "sheeple" were pissed. This will calm 'em down.

The bailout was only needed because of some very poor decisions made under Clinton's watch.  This is a simple fact.  Or do you think handing out sub-prime loans for 250k + houses to families with less than 30k of income per year like candy was "smart"?

Here is something that most "liberals" seem to fail to understand: Not everything SHOULD be handled at the Federal level.  Medicine being one of these things.  You want socialized medicine?  Move to a state that has some form of it, (and they do exist), and pay their appropriately higher taxes.

Tax cuts, you are right, they are not going to happen, regardless of who gets elected.

That was not what happened at all.  Blaming the credit melt down on poor minorities is a joke.  The government programs were not designed to give loans to people who could not afford to pay them.  The banks developed the programs to give loans to persons who could not pay them because the banks got laws changed so they could sell those loans to others as securities.

Now the Clinton Admin. played a vital role in this debacle in helping the banks deregulate by eviscerating the controls of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933.  Clinton was not a liberal president by any stretch of the imagination.

The government's in charge of banks ?

Isn't that socialism ?

Oh - but it was the Democrat's fault.

Because the only thing that caused the financial meltdown was Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and the Dems defense of them.

But fuck the bailout.

What about all the dead kids ?

I'm sure the Bushies thought that with all the financial shit going down at least one upside was taking the focus off the nightmare in Afghanistan

And McCain's constant and unending votes against veterans and soldiers ?

A hero ?

A confused old man.

He was tortured but depending on the day of the week supports its use.

Huh ?

Huge laundry lists of his total disregard for soldiers and veterans by voting against funding and pay raises and education benefits are on the net.

On veteran's forums.

I'm sure he'll be a fine commander-in-chief until he croaks and the bitch gets in charge.

You know the really *hot* one w/ the traitor husband ?

I believe that the title of this thread was "EAT SHIT OBAMA" not "LICK McCAIN'S SHRIVELED UP NUT-SACK".

Not everything is, ahem, black and white.

Being anti Obama does not necessarily mean one is pro McCain.

Sometimes things are simply a matter of who may be the lesser of two evils.

So instead of saying "nana-nana-nana your candidate's party has done some things that resemble socialism too", please educate me as to why I should vote for Obama.  Try doing so on his merits only, without slamming any other party / candidate or bringing up these things that had complete bi-partisan approval.

I'm listening, I honestly am.

Please show me where I used the word minority.  Plenty of poor and lower middle class white folk fell victim (many albeit because of their own stupidity) to this push to live beyond their means, to live the American wet dream.

And it wasn't a joke - it was completely real.  I almost shit when I saw some of the loans my friends were getting - knowing what they made.  But hey, they lived great - for about a year.

I also never said that these were government loans... just that the government made some serious mistakes that enabled this.  You said it yourself - "laws were changed..."

Great question! And the answer is yes.
You have to request a re-assessment. Chances are the county will just raise your assessed value while lowering your market value........ they still find a way to screw us.

I was talking' to the Pimp the other day and he had mentioned a comp in the area which is close to the basic layout we are living in and it's up almost 20% over the market price of say January of 2006 .

Housing is gonna come back sooner than most think, but a deep, quick slump in the market will hit hard in the next 2 years due to the bulk of 5/1 ARM's that are coming due that were originated in 2004-05.
The come back will be more for people with real money not the n*@#@r rich.
No 20% down, no 2 years reserves in savings, no 30 year conventional, no soup for you!
It's 1975 all over again for lending.

No these numbers are a small sample, they are not all inclusive. In fact 2008 has brought an average 11% increase in home sales, which in turn helps raise property values. It's those damn foreclosures that are killing property values.

I also believe that housing will rebound sooner than expected,
No Soup For You!

Wes. It's revolting what this bail out has done. The more I read, the more it pisses me off. Billionaires are becoming millionaires and they don't like it, so they want us to bail their asses out. WTF

I can't tell you why to vote for Obama.

But if you all are honest you'll admit that McCain wasn't your 1st choice to be the candidate on that side for President.

I think a hell of a lot a reasons have been put forward as to why he is a classic politician.

Blows in the wind any which way just to get elected.

I used to really respect the guy especially the way he would buck his own party on a whole host of issues if he thought they were wrong.

Where did that guy go ?

So for me Obama is the lesser of the two evils.

And it's not only because I had statistics in college and realize that guys over 70 who have had bad cancer 2 times already shouldn't make long-range dinner reservations much less run for President.

I really wouldn't care in this election if McCain had been allowed to pick who he really wanted as VP - Lieberman.

Because he followed his advisors and picked the broad who thinks "The Flintsones" is a science documentary I gotta go w/ Obama.

Vote for whoever you want.

We're already socialists - what does it matter ?

I'm dumbfounded as to why anyone would choose McCain and the Republican's policies over Obama's.

Here's a link to a video presenting Obama's views on health care.... I'd urge Wes and any other McCain supporter to take a minute and watch it....
