60/40 rosin core is your best bet. 30 watts is fine, but be quick.

As far as chorus pedals go, I'm pretty fond of the Danelectro Cool Cat. If you've got loads of cash, score a TC Electronic.

Nope, that spacing is for Floyd Rose trems, if I'm not mistaken, but I'm wrong a lot. I'd contact Duncan for that one.

You guessed correctly, FOS. Trembucker/F-Space/Fender spacing are all the same thing. Your Mex Strat does indeed need a wider humbucker, Floyd or not! I'm an ex-big haired 80s shredmeister: F-spaced pickups were a way of life!

That's why he's not called "sommelierdude" or "wurstmeisterdude"... he knows his pole spacing...

FOS - Why you screwin' around w/ all that electric jive for anyway ? Get yerself a National resonator. My 1930 National Style O will singe yer ear hairs at 60 paces. Even outside. Away from electrical outlets.
Boo freakin' yah !
Anywho good luck w/ the Strat and just promise me you won't try to be the next Stevie Ray w/ that thing. We got way too many of those white boys around right now as it is.

You just gotta trust me on this one.

Best! Chorus! Ever! (And I've test driven quite a few when I used to write for Guitar Player).

Hesh-
I'll second that on the Clone and also add the Small Stone phase shifter. Was screwing around with it after I found it at a record shop (!), had the Strat plugged into that and a 50's Harmony 5 watt screamer and all of a sudden - "Bridge of Sighs" ! I played it for a bout 3 hours straight and had many Trower concert flashbacks. That things real good for the wobbly tone...

What years did you write for GP ? I've gotten that mag off and on since '85.

I'll third the EH Small Clone. I had an old MXR Chorus Commande Series in the plastic box that was sweet. I can also recommend the Boss Dimension C pedal. Or the Detune setting on a Digitech Whammy Pedal is real nice AND foot adjustable on the fly.

oops, hit enter too soon!

Any solder will work, just don't use acid core - that's for plumbing. A 30w iron is hot, but not too bad, like he said - be quick, don't leave it on the wires too long.

Hey Soul, do they still make the "King of the Britains" pedal?
