has anyone ever seen or ridden one of those Hamboards?  you know the huge ass surfboard with trucks and wheels, just curious I've seen plenty of ads but never seen one in a shop or on the street, they seem pretty retarded to me

they are fun in small doses. kinda like Opiates.
if you have a big, wide gradual slope, its not bad.  but are NO FUN to push.  they sit SO HIGH and are SO HEAVY its just hard on the knees to push 'em. If don't gotta truck, you'll need a roof rack for your car. they are HUGE.

all other crap aside, they are super well made & beautiful.

They are a wood composition right?
Guess foam and fiberglass just would be so cool, but very easy to destroy !

my legs are already wasted, just seems like that thing needs some bigger trucks, there would be plenty of hills up here in the Northwest to bomb, maybe I'll just pick up an old surfboard at a swap meet and bolt some trucks to it, maybe I'll smoke some opium too!

That's weird.  I know the Hamboards originally had torsion trucks, but they got a deal with Original (the spring loaded - lean your deck 45 degrees) trucks a while ago.  It appears they went back to torsion again.  Ryan was always into the big ones - his primary rider was a 55x11 S9 Luke Nosewalker, and he had a 57x9 Kahuna.  But for some reason he didn't really like the aesthetic of the Hamboard.

They could be fun, but they're far from my taste...very far.
Their videos are way cool though.

I tried one out.

Felt like I was riding a door!

George said you have to get used to it....

I dont see how it could fee like surfing, much heavier than a surfboard.

The ideas has some promise though, maybe those fish out of water guys could make something a little bigger.

Go for it Wade, maybe a beam or some more fiberglass and you'd have the "Waderider"

Foam fiberglass is the way to go with this, not inch thick plywood!

then add electro drive....

The clear "rubber" top was very cool and might work on a regular skate

Good boards if you want to HAM it up

Hmnn.... Opium would be nice.....

oh wow, I always wanted to ride a door, stay tuned for pics of that, didn't realize foam fiberglass existed, I'm gonna get to work on creating a retardedly huge board, I guess the trucks will just be the problem, maybe a twelve wheeler, it will most definitely be called the "Opium Den", and I'll pull a Toft except I will upholster the top like a couch, I'll probably just get high and sit on it but it will be a great conversation piece, hell the $120 worth of trucks alone will make it cool right?

well. obviously you've never seen pics of that Madrid board a few years ago...insanely wide...trucks were the widest I had ever seen made.
Had some spanish name like,...El Cochese, er something like that.

El Cochino is the name. It is basically a wake board cut into a skateboard.

did you mean this one

or do you mean that gigantic pile of horseshit that they made for Wes as the 8 wheeler prototype?  I saw it at Jones Bikes in Long Beach it was like 11 plys n shit, Wes signed it and basically wrote some jokes and other stuff like "what the fuck is this?" it was pretty funny when I was looking at it, guess he gave it to dude that works there
