Cool, BailDog.  Love the Alva, of course.  I was curious how that new Hammerhead with the concave would ride, you take it for a spin yet?

Haven't yet- healing from a bail (go figure)
Maybe this weekend.
The concave is crazy- like a taco- the middle of the deck will scrape even with
the rails while doing a rock and roll....
I really wanted to ride a Hammerhead again, I feel like I did when I the bought
the white one at Val Surf, summer of 1984, anticipating trying it out.

I love skating....

I also find myself pulling for Holmes, he's still doing good, his faith doesn't get
in the way of his stoke. I can find more reasons to say "good for him"
than "too bad about him" lately-

Nice Baildog! Yea I've ridden both the older PPS re-issue and the newer ones and to be honest, the PPS one's have a wee bit better degree on the kicktail(just my opinion of course) as where as the newer ones seem a bit flatter~
I used to have two of the VERY first Hammerheads that I got from Holmes himself at Upland~ It was white with the red dot, black triangle and the Hosoi letterings outlined in turquoise inside the black outline~ He was chillin after a session with his pops Ivan in the parking lot and he opened up his trunk and flowed me a deck and a shirt and I wanted another one but I paid for the second one Only $20 bucks~ And let me tell you, those first generation ones were the BEST LOOKING BUT FLAT Concave and FLIMSY!!! And I broke both of them going off a Street Pyramid Ramp~ Then I had all the variations from the cheaper Canadian ones, to SKullSkates to the Santa Cruz ones and the Santa Cruz ones were the strongest with the best concave and upturned nose~
Nonetheless, I really loved these boards! Out of all boards that I've had, I think I've had and broke the MOST of the Hosoi Hammerheads!

Hey BailDog, Cool bro, that Hosoi looks fun! You might wanna try the CROOKS rails, they're tall, good for deep concave. I have them on my Black Label boards.

I hear ya, I'm stoked for Holmes too, he seems to be on the right track.

Methodair....this new one has a nosekick too, its there, but not obscene.
And the tail has quite a steep angle- when I was walking
on it, working down the grip before I put the trucks on, I felt
quite a bit of flex in the tail, not sketchy flex, but intended flex.
The steepest concave is in the wider front foot area, so it's not like your
toes hang over the concaved edge, it's 10.5" wide in that area, that gives good
wheel clearance in the front, too.
The deck did have a "hecho en mexico" imprint under the warning
sticker, Mexican manufacture is a new one for me-
But reassuring was the Screaming Squeegee's sticker, I like the
fact that it is screened, not heat transfered. The dot behind Hosoi's name
is metallic silver- hard to see in the picture- looks pretty cool.
I think Holmes is paying attention to the results in quality.
