Apparently Fairchild Paris does their own rendition of advertisements.  At least that's what I surmise from a 30 second Google search.  The eBay seller is Wayfair, so I went to their website to find this item so you can zoom in.  You can tell it's not the original Wes artwork, but a rendition of it.  That said, not sure what the laws are around that type of thing, but there are a lot of ads with this Fairchild Paris name associated with them.  So, they're not saying the OG artwork is theirs, but this is a rendition of an BDS ad.  This BDS ad using the Skull and Roses graphic, per the Photo Gallery --> BDS Ads at the top of all of this site's pages shows that it was at least in Juice Magazine.

looks like copyright infringement to me, unless it was done wiith permission. There are Bones Brigade ones as well.

It just seems weird that these are signed and numbered as original art.

Hello,

Thank you for inquiring about this product. The artist for this particular painting is Paris Fairchild. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

That's an interesting response. I will leave it to the real artist of this graphic, Wes Humpston, to contact you. You should take a look at his website bulldogskates.com and you will see the origins of this piece as part of a skateboard graphic. It has been trimmed down, but it is clearly the heart of a drawing produced by Wes.

I really don't see much difference in theirs and Wes's other than they cut off the wings

It is the SAME art with a couple of tweaks like you said.
If you posted this in a paper of some kind, you would be called out for plagiarism!

Obviously, or at least it should be, I'm not a lawyer.  In writing, this would be plagiarism IF the writer didn't put quote marks along with making an attribution.  It would also be plagiarism IF the writer paraphrased (no quote marks) but didn't provide attribution.  Not defending Fairchild Paris, be that an individual or a company, but they did provide an attribution, basically saying this is my version (painting) of this other person's advertisement/artwork (Bulldog Skates).  It doesn't seem they are taking credit for the original art.  I'm not saying that makes it right or wrong, so if that's a copyright infringement or if Wes has royalties coming to him, I don't know how that stuff works. Whatever it is, I hope it benefits Wes.

Yea the colors are heaver the orange on the edges or the banner turns to brown but it may be from how there printing it, they added leafs around the out side of the banners to fill the background?

Trying to contact Egay is a joke.
