Well I chickened out on dropping in again while skating last weekend. No worries. It'll come.

I am now telling myself that I should make my first drop in happen on the new to me BDS Holt this weekend after it arrives from 70sSkater. That is my new inspiration to get it done, and to have a specific plan, and to dedicate the drop in to Mr. Holt and 70sSkater. Okay, I know, cheesy, but so what! Whatever psych's me up to get it done, right?

This dude is the skater I meet there to skate with. He's the one who showed me where the mini ramp is in the next town over from me and gave a little nudge to try the drop in on the mini ramp. This bowl we ride here is where I want to drop in from, on the extension basically, to carve that back rectangular section around the back 3 wall and back to the extension. The longer term goal is to catch some air off that extension in the far left corner before the year is up. This guy is hanging in there at almost 30 years old. He's providing plenty of stoke to keep me pushing forward.

I've shrunk this video to 640x480, so hoping it links for you guys with smaller monitors. Learning as I go with that, so, please inform if it's doing well enough?

Great video. I guess the dropping in is just a mind fuck for you because I saw you essentially dropping in over and over in the video.

Keep sharing you fun.

It truly is. I can do it again.

The guy in that video isn't me though.

Like the plan Andy.  Will be stoked to see the video when (not if) it happens!

This one is me as well. Of course it's not showing me push or fakie to get going though.[rolleyes] About a month ago.
And still not completely comfortable backside. A bit of a whoops moments there.

Thank you guys. Much appreciate the support. Need to spend 20-30 minutes over and over just doing backside kick turns/grinders.
I do okay carving either way. I don't know why I quit going backside though.

Maybe so!

Last weekend I finally started getting enough speed where that backside carve around the bowl is high enough and fast enough that I can pump out of it and shoot up to a knee, or standing bent knee on one leg, and stand on up as I pop out. Not on video yet though. The strength is coming back though. Burning lots of energy getting going and gettng out! I'm a friggen' newbie all over again. Paying my dues though.

Looking good Andy.  If you carve and pump through those tighter corners, you will increase your speed, which will enable you to carve higher on the other walls and then pump down those walls, which will increase your speed.  Rinse and repeat.  Pretty soon it will be perpetual motion (until you run out of gas).

Thank you. I'll definitely try to go for that this weekend. If only my gas tank were larger!

That looks like a nice bowl Andy.  Lots of lines.  I'm a little jealous.

Yes, it really is smooth too, without a kink anywhere in it. Great for hard fast wheels. This whole park was poured and smoothed almost perfectly.
