Kevin Reed ripped skating as well as surfing. check these early 80's pics of him blasting some early airs. He and Davey Smith were some of the first to take aerials to the surf.

SICK!

KR was a ruler. Totally ahead of his time with his attack. He pulled so many of those.

Jeff, remember these days at the Rivermouth??? I remember seeing Kevin airing OVER people on the rights on crowded days....That El Nino couple of years in the early eighties I got the longest lefts I think I've ever surfed in CA there!
Check out the innovative channels Bob Pearson put on that board, don't remember those...

Oh yeah "82" rivermouth. that was a hotbed.  And yes I remember airs over people and throwing fins before we knew what to call it. He was an "old guy" to us then too......Underground legend of the highest order!

used to LOVE & CHERISH Breakout mag, & had more than a few shot of Kevin on my walls...I remember one of him in his MG hardtop with the Pierson's sticking outta the sunroof...I never knew he skated untill many year's later...I saw about a year ago they asked him to be a judge at one of the aerial events during the Oneill coldwater classic in SC, He looked the same!...
