I was there too. I didn't even know who to look for as far as this forum goes but I was in a black Dogtown "fuck off" t shirt. I was sorry the other guys(shogo, pratt and biniac) didn't show but no biggie. I was out front early on and Jay was just hanging out, no crowd or anything. He is friends with a firend of mine and signed his 78' PC dogtown deck then signed my Jay Adams zipperhead deck. Thanks Jay!!!!-didn't have to wait in line-
Toally cool individual. I was really looking forward to him skating but ya know what, it didn't really matter. The pool was getting shredded. It was an awesome day and it didn't start raining until after 5pm. I was stoked the whole time and equipped with a camera instead of a skate. I took over 100 photos and luckily alot of them turned out excellent. If I figure out how to post some, I will. What a great day!!!!!!

Hey Adam, it was the DT shirt with the skull? if that was you, I was talking to you at the Kona checkin. I was weraing a grey Independent trucks shirt with red letters and camo pants, blue vans. You had your wife or girlfriend with you.

I did meet Konarider! More on all this stuff, plus pictures later. I am getting ready to go skate.

Holy crap what a day Saturday was at Kona!! Kona rider dog it's"just Jerry". Ha, ha, I know I could have thought of something besides my name for a username, must have had a buzz on. Anyway it was great meeting fellow Bulldog members Konarider and Rattownsk8r! You guys rock. I'll post a few shots soon bros! Jay was cool as hell by the way, it was well worth the drive. We all should meet up with Hawaiian John and his crew at Cocoa or somewhere in July. Keep the stoke on dogs! -Jerry

Yay, pics! I see that FL guys are still as nice lookin' as I remember from all those long ago summertime visits to Orlando and Daytona, hehehe!
No Huck Andress eh? That's too bad about the other Z-boys not making it, but hey - Jay did, bless 'im!
Purty pool, looks like it really is built just like a true pool? Just curious, how common is that feature in a skatepark?
Thanks for the pics and reports guys.
Beth

First off thanks to Cantolliesowhat (Beth if that is your real name) for the great compliment for us ol Fla boyz. BTW as Iowa pointed out some time back Beth is quite the SkateFox her own bad self. BTW I'm the dude behind Jay in the pic, LOL! I think its time for another Fla trip for you..........

Jerry sure took some nice shots. I thought he was a magazine photgrapher, nice camera gear and professional demeanor when it came to taking shots. The pictures speak for themselves. Plus he is a super nice laidback mellow dude.

Adam was cool to meet although we were both freaking about meeting Jay,so we didn't really introduce ourselves.

Konaskater, Dude I will be back to skate with you soon. My mom still lives in AB. We need to link up with Jerry and HawaaianJohn, AdamH and have a BDS skate session as Jer suggested.

a killer weekend indeed! It went something like this,,,Friday night saw LODT with the crew and few brews, Saturday got up and drove to Kona, met Jay and the BDS dudes and a few my old Rattowners I had not seen in about 25 years. watched some guys kill the new pool with Jay watching, drove home. Told the familia all the wild stuff.drank some more brews. Got up Sunday and went to the local park and skated for 3 hours. Went to work Monday and fell asleep for a few minutes in the afternoon. Luckily no-one saw me pass out briefly. I'm still smiling

I have few shots to post too. But got to load em up to the net first.

Thanks to all for a great time, Aloha,

Ray

Oh yeah Ray, you Florida guys will always have a special place in my heart! A significant chunk of my immediate family has lived down there since the early 60's so we spent many a Christmas and summer in Orlando, Deland, Daytona and Cocoa Beach. Unfortunately the last time I stayed down there for any length of time was when I was 18 or so. But I have many fond memories of hitting up the record stores for obscure Metal albums and all the badass Rock-n-Roll clothing we couldn't find in NC, going to Sea World, Disney, Boardwalk&Baseball, Wizard's Fun something or other (the po' man's Disney but it was still cool to us kids), driving my Mustang on the sands of Daytona, trying to surf one time at Cocoa w/ my cousins and getting mocked because our other cousin was surfing world champ and I couldn't surf worth a f00k, corresponding with lots of FL Death/Thrash Metal guys, meeting Chuck Shuldiner (RIP bro) at Fashion Square Mall, Carvel ice cream (ya I know they have it up north too but not in NC), helping Grandma shop at Publix, swimming in lakes until the amoeba/encephalitis scare came along in the early 80s, Cape Canaveral tours, riding horses in fields of the tallest greenest grass I ever saw, that big tall tower thingy in the middle of those orange groves, GATORLAND!, Deleon Springs, making your own fresh orange juice every morning, gawking at sinkholes, flying out of MCO with a nasty ear infection and passing out at the gate from taking too much Tylenol III...dude, Florida rules!!!
