OSR, you're not holding out on us now, are you?  You got to have a couple nice NOS setups for us.

i wish, believe me, i need the 8" for my era stuff and missed a beautiful nos one on ebay a few years ago.  it went for $1500 then, now i'd give $2000 for it easily, only thing is i'd have to let go of a few pieces in order to afford it!

i've got wheels only also, here's a pic i took a while back when i had acquired the 70mm krypts in all three colors...

I had my first set of blue C-65's stolen on my Tunnel deck with Mid-Tracks back in 1979. The board I replaced it with had blue CX-66's. Still have them, just can't find them..... saw them in a box about a year ago, but don't remember where I put the box. Anyhow, the K-Beams were my dream deck. When my Tunnel deck got stolen, I figured it was my chance to get a K-Beam. Well, the skateboard shop didn't have any K-Beams, so I got a DT Bulldog instead. And look what that led to!

OSR, love the vivid OG colors of the reds and greens.  They look like new.

The blues look a little discolored, though, but I think all of the early generation blues do now.  It's really hard to find any that appear to be the original color.  The colors on the CX wheels seemed to hold up a lot better.

The greens had a tendency to really darken with age too.  For example:

Look at the difference in these greens.  The one on the right is not a CD.  Must have been sitting in a hot attic or something for the last 25 years.  And, from what I've seen, the bumpers on virtually all of the foam cores are all dark green now too.

I rode the original blue 70 mm wheels (soft, no radius, partially offset). Don't have 'em anymore. I also rode the green 70 mm ones, also partially offset, some radius, harder. I think my older brother still has 'em on a Harbour Skateboard with Tracker Mid Tracks. I'll have to get photos.

These are the first cored Kryptonics I had. They came in a tube. They're mounted on OG Indy 109's. Until a month or two ago, this setup was on my home-made ('79) 40" ash deck.

This is a complete I bought at a few years ago at Big 5 Sporting Goods store for cheap ($50.00). 38"x9 1/4". 12 ply. I don't know what kind of wood. Stiff. They were glad to get rid of it. Specialty Trucks (never heard of 'em) and Krypto Classic 62mm wheels. Fun to cruise and carve on.

Nice board C'dub!

Is this the pic you saw?

It's classic.

@konarider:  That ain't my board.  Just stole the picture.  Contrary to what you might think, I don't have the coin for such gems.  I'm BDS poor, brother, and you know that.  The Big Chief is on his way and he cost me more than a few scalps.

Devo deck?  What Devo deck?

Amazing stuff you guys I never saw the boards when I skated. I can see where the foam board would be really cool. My first urethane wheels were green krypto's on a water ski. I used to skate it on a PERFECT cement firehouse driveway in Cali. Just came off the old clay wheels, so you can imagine the difference. I wish I would have kept some of my stuff. I am always amazed at what you guys kept over the years. I wish I would have kept my Emotion wheels and Logan Earth Ski with Bennet trucks with the plastic baseplate

I've posted these before, but now that there's a Krypto corner, this will be a good home for these images. I've been told that this is the last deck Kryptonics made before changing owners (I didn't even know that happened) ... anyway, this came after the Malbas and Salbas ... it's a "Competition Concave". It's really beautiful in person (belongs to a friend of mine who bought it in 79 or 80 and pretty much stopped skating right after). Has Gullwing pros and original Wings single conicals ... still rides nicely.

Chris, doesn't that bowl that Shogo's airing out of remind you of the capsule at "The Turf"? Lotsa vert, and you had better have lotsa balls!!

Dig those early (1st gen?) Rector knee pads Shogo is wearing!!!  I remember getting my first pair of those and having my knee caps twisted sideways falling on them in pools... w/o the modern caps they would grip the cement and just rack you!  But they were better than volleyball style kneepads, or the dreaded skatepark rental pads (oooh the stench!)!!!

Very cool pics you guys!  I like the old stories too.

How about these 2-tone Krypt c70 w/ cores?  Anyone else ever ride 'em?  BTW, I sold these about 6 months ago... kinda wish I had them still.
