Try going the historical route. There are very few original parks left.

Maybe we could bribe the state DOT and the City of Greenfield officials with free Viagra?

That is about right.  That's why the Turf needs a new building over it.  Dan, do you have us covered buddy?  You're a man of influence with a profound appreciation for a marginal skate park from the 70s, dashing good looks (when you're not covered in road rash) and winning personality  Right?  Wait, strike "marginal" and insert "AWESOME."  Eh, strike that "good looks" part also.  Just strike that whole sentence and leave it at "do you have us covered?"

"Someone blew a chance at goodwill."  Wow, pretty good.  That newscaster is a regular on morning radio.  He does a pretty good job of staying on top of the local issues.

Dan, when did you start wearing glasses?  Wait a minute.  I wear glasses like that.  Yikes.  Not my best side I guess.

I was talking to the guy who designed our Brookfield skate park at the Mike V. demo and he said if they don't put a deck around the bowls and if a lot of water gets in under them they will crack, maybe beyond repair.  I have talked to others who don't think cracking would be a big deal because you can always repair concrete and the rebar will hold everything in place.  Don't know, but I'd like to get an engineer's take on it and see if there is anything we could ask the DOT to do to help preserve the bowls.  Not that they would do it, of course.  But, if we got the mayor interested in preserving the bowls then maybe he could have some influence, blah, blah blah....

Redrum.

What are you suggesting?  Some kind of insanity brought on by blind devotion to a hopeless cause?

Tony Hawk was in town for the Birdhouse tour (pics in Events and Happenings) and gave a really good interview to the local news http://www.fox6now.com/news/witi-100916-tony-hawk,0,2967245.story.

He also signed a deck for the cause.

We've organized a nonprofit and will start raising money for the Turf.  T-shirts and other gear should be available soon.
