Some guy brought one to KONA and was letting people try it. I rode it and it was fun as heck! If I had the bread to buy one I would. Pretty pricey but definately fun.

The guy who had the longboard in Kona is named Ronnie Mix. He just took a shortboard and mounted the trucks to that. I didn't really look at the bottom reinforcement, but I've got a picture of it if you're interested in making one yourself.

I've also got Ronnie's ph. number to get more info.

pm if needed

I believe you're thinking of OP/OS3 Dist.'s "Fish Out of Water" line maybe?
All foam cores with wood stringer & fiberglass.  I wanted one SOOO badly!!!

I also remember a video on Carver Trucks' website of someone skating a surfboard.

I treated myself to a Hamboard "Fish" on the Fourth of July . They are super fun and Pete (Owner, operator and designer) is a great guy ! I tried the long board but I felt like the shorter one was best for me . If you go to Youtube and type in Hamboard, you can see the video clip of the "Fish" in action ! I highly recommend the Hamboard !
