1985. Ocean Park Blvd underpass near 4th St. Silicon-based German paint (Keim), 25' x 600'. That's across the street from my house. Some girls were touching it up last summer.

That's killer stuff! I wish they (cities) would let people paint skateparks like that, the way I see em painted in UK, AUS and Hawaii. Turn some real artists loose on that shizzment!

Yea there's nothin like coming over the hill on ocean Park from Lincoln and catching that cool breeze to tell you that you are home.

Wes,
That's some cool shit. My dad was a photog when we were kids (see my avatar w/44 mag). He has some nice old mural shots from Santa Monica he took in the early 70's. They (murals) were big in the hippy era as I'm sure you know already. Too bad he's a packrat and has em all stashed away never to be seen.

Those links were cool Wes.
Where is yours? I think SM or Venice should have a Wes Mural since you continually produce killer mural quality artwork.

That's cool.
Someone in the SM area should commission you to do a current mural. That would be killer! and hopefully you'd make some $$.

No, I was such the grom/rat at that time. I do remember one of his photos which was one girls head / bust with an afro (fairly large size?) kind of low and near a fire hydrant. In the photo it's B&W, not sure if mural had color.

Yes that was on this back wall of the old federated building on olimpic I think...Here's Bob Bekian there in 78 with his quiver in '78. Of note are the Chris Cahill (OG Z-BOY) airbrushed Horizons West boards and the Jay Adams multi colored team Z-Flex . I wish I still had that van..... Bobs comment..... This is still one of my favorites....
