Hello everyone,

Some of you may have already noticed the actual date I joined BDS, if you haven't yet noticed it then this intro should make you aware.
Yeah, you are reading it right! 05/20/2012 was the day I joined and I obviously have never posted anything since then and was only lurking. [comp]
Here is hoping that this will change from now on and that I will become a helpful member to this community.
Some of you guys may already know me from another forum or FB and this will hopefully help my cause on here too, and open some doors.
For those who don't know me yet, I'm from Germany, the Lower Bavarian area to be more exact, and am turning 54 this year and have been skateboarding since '76.
I'd be lying if I wouldn't admit that I have had a few breaks in my skateboarding life, such as first moped, first g/f, first car and especially windsurfing distracted me the most, but always found back rather quickly, and am nowadays almost as keen as I was when I started skateboarding 40 years ago at the age of 14.
I can't say when I actively began collecting. If you need a certain date, then it was probably 7 years ago but I personally can not put a certain date on it as I always kinda "collected" skateboards. Thing is that I just kept most of my personal skateboards and never really let them go or threw them away. Well, that's not totally true if I'm perfectly honest with you guys.
There was a time when I cut down boards from old shapes that I had lying around. I cut those down to the newer popsicle shape because I thought to myself, why buying new boards when you can cut those down. [rofl] Oh well, little did I know. [rofl]
The cut down boards either ended up in the hands of friends or in the oven.
I remember that I once threw an entire seabag full of old boards into the oven.
Yeah, I know... don't tell me how stupid that was...
Anyway, despite all the boards that fell victim to that bonfire I could manage to build a very solid collection over the past years and am very proud of what I have achieved.
I will, of course, post photos, videos and also some news reports at a later date for those who don't know me yet.
Okay, that's it for now and I hope you guys will forgive my year long lurking now that you know a bit more about me.

Cheers,
Herwig aka feelgoodonapieceofwood

Well, i've heard about people who dissolve pearls in acetic acid and drink this as a cocktail. But to fire an oven with oldschoolboards is definetively new!
