Love the GNs! How do you sell a car you've had for thirty years?

Yeah it was very tough. Car had lots of memories of both my parents and my older brother who are not with us any more . Just came time to get it down to one collector car for financial and family reasons. Kept my Grand National as I bought that new and have every piece of paperwork for it. Buick is a ton faster also as the Road Runner only ran 13.80.

Here's my 1975 911. I don't think of it as vintage since everything in it is relatively new (except the driver).
All period correct technology- swing arms, steel brakes, etc.
I'll try to post some recent video.
We'll be racing at Rennsport Reunion Sept 24-26 at Laguna Seca in Monterrey if anyone is in the area and wants to check out a huge event.
All Porsche, almost all very historic, Le Mans winners etc and the factory sends over many cars from their museum.

This is from a track in Washington a few weeks ago.
I had a problem in qualifying so started at the back of a small field.

New top done.  Finishing touches left on body and interior.  Carb change and tune up, ready to hit the road again!
Though I am rolling through the hood a bit...

Nice track video SoClose.

My friend recently sold his 1978 911 to a guy who converted it to a track car.

Have you already been to Road America this year?  I'd like to come out and see you there.

70's-
Actually, this Labor Day weekend will be the first Rd America event that we've missed in about 12 years. My favorite track that we've done (with Watkins Glen a close second).
The Laguna Seca event at the end of September was too close to risk any damage that we might not have been able to repair in time.

300hp-
Beautiful car from a great era. I noticed the roll hoop- for track days and/or torsional strength?

Paul,
Mostly torsional and safety these days, but it was originally put it so I could run the car at Thunderhill Raceway.  What a blast that was!  I will scan a pic in for you.  Got one coming off the front straight in the middle of the left hander chasing down a Porsche.   [wink]
The car also had drag strip time when I was in high school, going out to the Wednesday night drags at Sears Point.

When you hitting Sears Point, er, Sonoma Raceway?

We've done the event at Sears over Halloween weekend before, but I don't know that we're planning on it this year.
Will certainly let you know if we do.
Hella fun track.
