Sorry, having difficulty scrolling below Brian's (lox's) post... is that a Photobucket problem or a Mike problem?  [confused][tongue]

Anyway, they're bastards.  Notification would have been the right thing to do...along with a bit of time.  And it's weird they're rolling it out in waves.  It's a simple setting and they could do everyone at the same time, but they're opting to do smaller chunks at a time.

They fucked us good and proper. From what I have been reading there are lots of people on other forums and blogs with exactly the same thoughts. They are happy for you to down load your pictures, that is quite easily done but the destruction of historical threads and posts they don't give a shit about. Even worse we can't edit the old posts, 2nd Childhood needs to sort that out with the providers of the forum software. Even worse than that I can't even edit my profile to change or re-new my avatar. We need a bit of help here from the Moderator and soon before the whole forum becomes a grey boxed shit show.

If they had asked a reasonable fee for continued use I might have considered paying it but this dreamt up charge of $400 is a rip off and they know it.  CEO changed last year to John Corpus and this is what he thinks is going to save them and produce some revenue. The man has his head up his arse. Can anyone locate a direct email for him and want to give him a piece of my mind? If you do find a Class Action Law Suit let me know my name will be included.

I wrote an email to the support email address and got a computer generate reply from Robert the Photobucket Robot. What a bunch of wankers.

Haven't found anywhere that is as easy to use as Photofuckit its been simple and made using it easy.

http://www.denverpost.com/2017/07/06/photobucket-complaints-over-charging/

As a fee based advisor I completely understand their concern of small accounts taking up time, producing no revenue.
I have had many small accounts taking up my time, producing no revenue, reducing my efforst to
million dollar accounts which revenue is generated.
Biz is biz. I have bills to pay , people I hired and have to pay just like Photobucket.

BUT...... If I spin the small account off, client is provided with back up advisors and a 24/7 phone service.
No fees or blackmail like the photobucket business practice seems to be.
AND I will even complete a final consulting with the client at no charge or obligation.

Terrible business practice by photobucket, which suggests competitors are very limited in this sector of business.....
Bummed another quality service disappearing...

Facebook does not charge its users, it generates income from advertisers. Photobucket has advertisers also! I know the 2 are not the same, but still, shame on Photobucket!!!

I'm switching to Flickr at the moment with some success.

On a side note, someone a bit clever on the Radbmx forum has managed to alter something to do with the coding on the forum, and all of my old photobucket pics on their forum are currently showing. Maybe someone could do a similar thing here? Anyone good with forums and web stuff?

Well, that, and selling your personal info.  This has always, always been true with FB:

BTW, yesterday afternoon I registered at the site lox mentioned.  no fuss, no muss.  The pix of the wheels and trucks (that no one wants) are hosted there.

All my BBQ pictures on BDS gone...
Those fuckers....

That previous diplomatic crap I posted.
Screw me for posting such garbage and screw Photofuckit for
their blackmail ways. Loved seeing previous scene of
the crime photos I posted past few years....

Will use http://www.tinypic.com

Biggest bummer is I would go back and re-post couple a night for
a few months...BUT OUR BDS SYSTEM DOES NOT ALLOW
FOR EDIT OF PREVIOUS old POSTS (90 days or similar)....
Is this something that can be changed????

PHOTOFUCKIT, messing with our fun. Screw em, I ain't paying
$400 per year (that is the price right?).....

Just a reminder: tinypic is owned by Photobucket.  [frown]  If I don't like the actions of the parent company, not sure how confident I would be before they do something similar. Maybe never, but why risk having to go through something similar again?

I think they have two price tiers: $400 and $60. Don't know what the qualifications are for either, but honestly don't care.  I'm not paying.  But I also maintain copies of 100% of my photos.

they sent me an email saying its $400 to enable 3rd party hosting, which is around £310 per year so no chance, the thing i dont get is that they make their money from the advertisers on there,if their target audience starts to leave in their thousands then who is going to want to pay to advertise with them if three quarters of the members have gone overnight?[fu2]

The lower tears don't allow 3rd party hosting so you might loose the ads but it's still useless for posting on forums. You have to pay the higher rip off price to use PB to post images that people can see
