I'm needing some new knee pads and I'm wanting Pro-Designed. I have a set of their elbow pads and they're large. I bought them off of ebay and I figured if they weren't the right size it would be a big deal. However I want to make sure I get the correct size. I realize you can get them custom fit but I would imagine that I could get them "off the rack" but I'm not sure what the sizes are in relation to the measurements.

I measured my calf and thigh (4" below and 4" above my knee cap) and got 14 1/2" on my calf and 19 1/4" on my thigh. So I was wondering if any of you guys that have Pro-Designed knee pads could tell me what size to order for my measurements.

Thanks!

Does it take long to order directly from him? I was going to order from East Coast Skates because I got my PD wrist braces in about a week and the info. that was included says I could order direct but it also says to allow 3-6 weeks for delivery. I'm not sure I want to wait that long. My old red Rectors are all but shot. There's no elastic left in them.

If you want PDs, you must call Bill...
It is a rite of passage...

Plus you'll get custom pads.

And Bill is a hoot to talk with.

I love my PDs.

Many others say the Pain Cheaters are better, but I have not tried them...

Don't worry about the measuring and order some "strap-backs". They strap on (love that phrase) over jeans or Dickies easily and you can adjust the fit much easier than the pull overs (tighten or loosen to your liking). The pull overs will form fit a little better and some say stay in position better but I think the difference is negligible with the convenience of the strap-backs.

Ditto to what the others have said. Call Wild Bill. He has worked with me to custom fit my knee pads as I wear a brace underneath one and is a pleasure to deal with. I also have PDS wrist guards. The worksmanship cannot be matched and MADE IN THE U.S. OF A!!

Howdy,
You gotta call Wild Bill!
I talked with him for about 1/2 hour getting the details
of my custom knee pads PERFECT. And they are just that!
(blew out my knee playing football, so my leading leg
knee pad is "beefed up" over the normal PD's)
They fit so damn good, and they stay put, even during my
pathetic skating sessions.
Spend a little more cash and get a set of PD's; they are
worth it!

I like my PD Super Singles knees and elbows too but I thought it might be worth mentioning that a lot of bros on the skullandbones forum said the PDs wristguards do not hold up over time so well despite looking and feeling great when relatively new. I'm gonna check out Triple 8 wrists as they got the thumbs up by a lot of people at S&B for durability/comfort/effectiveness. It was also noted that PD knee pad fabric wears fast too but not a huge issue for me since I don't knee slide as often as hardcore vert skaters.
