Hi Fletch!   Reflex uses Indy 215's & orange 97A MiniDubs on his Griffin & it works great!  You can always add washers to space the wheels further out, if needed.  He's also used the Ultra MiniDubs on the Griffin, but a harder wheel worked much better.  Don't know if it was the Griffin's weight or size, but the softer wheel seemed to bog down too easily.

Here it is with blue mini's so you can see the wheel set up
I am using hard 97a orange ones at the park. very sweet. The ultras where nice but like SDO said the 97a are perfect for that deck

Black Death Mini's would even be better I bet

Hey Boy,
those wheels look awfully tiny on that he-man deck!!
You need to put some real wheels, like Ultra Dubs on
that behemoth!
I love my Griffin; it is a sweet ride!

Thanks guys,   I have the orange mini dubs on my quad 10 and I did take one off and put it on the griffin  and it did look small in comparison to the dubz  which do look correct and in proportion on this "he-man" deck.

I'm waiting for foz to get back to me with shipping for 2 sets of black death   I'm thinking 1 set bubz 1 set mini's

I also prefer a harder wheel the 97a mini's are surprisingly better than the green 95a      although the 95a dubs go unreal.

I find this deck(thanks SDO) is so suited to my style and surf stance that I want to make it my main performance ride    so wheels are an important choice.

Yada yada yada, whatever. I like smaller wheels and less riser. I hate wheel hang also. Don't like it when I have to go 1/2 riser. I got 1/4 inch riser on this bad boy and I love it. Lower and faster.  I had been riding the quad 10 alot until I started riding the 12 This is a great deck actually thinking of retiring the 10 now. I love the low riser I can use. On the BFII I had to go with 1/2 inch no choice even with 62mm shogos.
Have tried Big Dubs nice wheel but I like center set when I can use it. So I guess i am not a he-man, yeah well wedge risers are gay. so there

Im gonna go 1/2 way between "he-man" and gay and try it with the mini dubs and a wedged front and a flat rear     and see how it goes.

As far as I know mine is the only griffin down under and Im loving it

Here's my setup:

Indy 215 OG Stage IV hangers with Stage VIII baseplate in the front and Stage VII in the rear.
Front Sector 9 wedge (I think it's a Khiro) + 1/8" riser + 1/16" rubber pad.
Rear Skaterbuilt 1/2" riser + 1/16" rubber pad.
Front bushings: blue (hard) Stimulator bottom, black (hard) Bones top.
Rear bushings: blue (hard) Stimulator bottom, black (hard) Indy top.
Billy's hardware.
Skaterbuilt griptape.
Skaterbuilt 60mm 99a PF-60 wheels.

Such small wheels and a front wedge must make me a LESBIAN!

Thanks Tuk!!!  I'm heading out right now to an indoor park for the maiden voyage.  Thinking about christening it with a bottle of Guinness!  Hell, it's 5:00 somewhere, right?

so, did you bust the cherry on that thang today?

btw, how's the spog bowl looking?

Sure did!  The new skool kids were freaking over the size of the beast!  The long concave section of the board took a little getting used to, but she rocked!

Got plenty of axle grinds doing 1-wheelers.  Still need to mess around with the bushing set-up, but I love it!

They still have a small section of plywood to lay. Should have that finished tomorrow then it's on to the masonite.
Looking good.

With the size of the deck, the dubs do feel pretty damn good to me.  Haven't had any wheel bite at all.  I have Khiro yellows in the back with blacks on top.  I like to have my rear trucks tighter than the front for a little more control.  I may have to try harder wheels, possibly the ultrathane dubs to eek a little more speed out of the set-up.

I'm a he-man, but a lesbian as well!
