Thanks!

Well, that is NOT the grip job I set out to do. Actually, the grip itself is fine, but the junk in between is where I screwed it up....

I started with all the scraps of grip tape that I saved from previous grip jobs, then just started to piece them together -- without sticking them down -- kinda like a jigsaw puzzle. I trimmed them to fit better, cut some of the big pieces in half, etc.

Then I stuck them all down, recutting several of them as necessary to get the "broken tile" look I was going for. At this point, with the black grip pieces on top of the (then) nautral deck, is hwere I should have stopped. It had kind of a cool tribal look to it.

But then I decided to outline each piece of grip with blue marker, to try to bring out the blue wood layer that you can see on the bottom of the deck. I had done this before with a silver metallic marker on a black deck, and it looked great.... but this blue version with the natural wood looked like shit.

Sooooooo.... then I filled in the spaces with more blue, and whereever there were still holes, I filled in with a red marker. At this point, it had kind of a stained glass look to it.

So thennnnnnnn..... I thought it would bring out the stained glass effect if I outlined all the grip pieces with the silver metallic marker. There ended up being too much silver, and it again looked like shit.

And thennnnnnnnnnnn..... I went back over the blue and red, then outlined all of the blue and red "blotches" (that's what they were at this point) with a black marker. And that is the final step. Now it kind of looks like I puked up a church window into the ashpalt parking lot! It's truly bizarre.

Dude!  What's wrong with bizarre?  I'm all about bizzare!! I think it looks awesome!  It has sort of a tye-dye look to it too.  It's the stuff you set out to do with an idea in mind that sometimes take a turn you don't like.  Those are the things that everyone else sees the coolness in.

Rock on bro!

Thanks Koko... It somehow works with the pink Tail Bone seeing it in person.  Probably should have a red one on it, but I find the big 9'' ones a bit rare...

Dude! I can't tell the difference between red and pink! LOL

I found a rare set of pink Trackers for my daughter's Tail Tap and she wanted the red cherry bomb dubs on it.  She says it looks awesome!

Thats sweet!  You should check out my South Side Cross in the Flatpig set ups... I have the Purple Staab signature Trackers on it with Cherry Dubs too!  They didnt turn out the best in that picture... but in person it looks great!  Totally matches that boards color combo.

Man, that SS cross has so many colors in it that you can use anything you want and it will match

Mine is a signed wall hanger, so I don't have that one set-up.  I do have purple Staabs and dyed purple ultra dubs on my skull and cane.  I hope to have my quiver posted soon.  We had a lightening strike the other day that took out the power supply in my desktop at home, so I haven't been able to down load any pics to the computer yet.

Peace bro,

Keith
