Now I don't feel so bad that I ride the SoFla slop.
Those cats make it all look way better than I do....

The hardest thing about being a pro surfer on tour has to be the ability to perform in all conditions, cause I know I wouldn't even want to go out at some beachbreak after just having killer sessions in Tahiti.

round four heat with KSLATS, Kerrsy and J andre in the water right now. did you see that alley oop Slats just pulled on that 5'9" five fin? Sick.

waves looking pretty decent yest and today. bobby shot his mouth off, but eventhough he didn't say it eloquently, he has a valid point. Andy Irons spoke out against the ASP in a similar fashion.

***edit just a few minutes later, KERRsy blows up!! now he's got Kelly combo'd. damn- giant alley oop and a shove it fakie switch out? Kelly needs a 9.9 now.

Waves have been good, barrels, walled up, launch ramps.....tomorrow's going to be good, because here in Nor Fla it's firing, 6-8 ft. with mostly offshores....i'm enjoying the contest, & I was actually dreading it after the craziness of the Tahiti contest.....but it's been a nice transition, I bet they keep the contest, like the Cold Water Classic in SC......Im stoked for NY getting some coverage of it in quality conditions....and if you don't think youve seen quality, it's prob coming tomorrow...

NYC barrels, beautiful offshore feathering the lips of the waves.  I took off wok to watch this today and mother nature is doing her part for the competition today!  I am so stoked!!!

Slater- four blown aerials in a row (kept losing his board in the offshore wind) then KS lands a 10.0 Ally Oop with a slob grab to pull it out.  He needed an 8.4 to go ahead of Taj and go into the finals with less than a minute left in the heat.  Slater's a fucking super freak!!!

yeah, that was so rad! waves look pretty epic, offshore, overhead, and clean, especially for NY. rad that they are getting it good like this for the final. Taj was so close, bummer, if not for Slats he should have a title or two under his belt. Kelly and Owen in the finals again back to back contests? Owen is seeming pretty lethal on tour. K11

Cenan, That's what NJ/NY surfers love about the end of summer....empty beaches, and when there's tropical storm or canes whirling out in the Atlantic it makes for some epic conditions....I always used to tell people, that some of the best waves I ever surfed were in NJ when they would ask "NJ has good waves?"....Looking forward to going back at the end of the month for a few sessions with the boys, and not have to worry about hearing that there's a 12-15' Whitey cruising the line up every friggin night on the news..
