One of the greatest ever.  Devastated at this news.  A Rush fan for over 40 years.

I've been a drummer for 46 years now,
Bonham, Peart, Moon, Rich, Krupa, all gone now, these be my influences in order.
Thank god for these souls to have been among us in my lifetime,
Could not be who I am without them all...

Truly a sad day for rock and roll.    Had the good luck to be born at the right time to be a concert-going teenager when Rush were hitting their stride.  Saw 'em several times between 1978-1983, always an amazing performance!   R.I.P. to one of the greatest of all time, and probably the most influential drummer of the rock era.

Hard to find the words.. a monumental piece of youth, history and culture lost and only the memories remain.  Upon hearing this I foolishly mentioned the passing of Neil to some of the morons I work with only to hear  "WHO ??"  and  "oh fuck him".  Thank God for my friends at BDS that sill have a brain and a soul.  As an Air Force brat I knew kids that saw Rush at high school dances back when they were nobodies.  Days of listening to 2112 until you could recite it word for word.  Working at partial hearing loss courtesy of stereo equipment that gave us near concert performance. Damn those were the days.  So fortunate.. correct that... privileged to have grown up and lived those days.  Thank you Neil for what you gave us and RIP.

JBL 4350 Professional Studio Monitors, bi amplified Phase Linear 400 amps, 80 watt Crown amp, DBX compression,  enough to wake the dead, the only way to listen to Rush, circa 1977
