That's cool...I remember that ad, but I had forgotten the details. It's cool they used the 3 major truck brands in the ad. Did those pros use the brand of trucks shown on their decks in the ad?

As for the deck/truck/wheel dilema...SP...you send me the trucks and wheels, and I'll let Pimp send me the Shogo Airbeam and all will be right with the world!

got these from the owner of radikal trucks a few years back, he hooked me up with an extra truck to display with the sealed box. the box stayed sealed until recently, finally broke down and cut the tape to see what was inside

OMG SP!!! Those trucks look AWESOME!!! They're EXACTLY like the one's pictured in the Sims ad! And that was the EXACT set up on the ad that Andrecht rode before the Super Pros came out! Nice!!! Yea and you're right, truck manufacturers did always chrome(Gullwing and INDY'S) or polish out(Tracker Trucks) their trucks for their ads~
And yea Andrecht always rode for Gullwings(the strongest but heaviest trucks that were out back then but PERFECT for his backside air to axle) and Bowman always rode for Independent as Lamar always rode for Tracker~ Oh man, do I miss the late 70's!!!!
Did any of you guys have a skateshop around back in the days where they had a acrylic lit display case displaying the new Sims Gyro double conicals split in half like the ad? By my house at a shop called "Sunshine Skateboards" they had one and when I saw it as a kid, after seeing the ad in the magazine, it was like seeing a moviestar walking down the street! Oh man if I could only get my hands on one of those....

OMG!!! Yes! I remember seeing those in half also!!! Those were even BEFORE the double conical ads! Oldskool, did you get it that way? That is A BEAUTY my friend!!! Brings back memories!!! Actually I just sent my bro Tony Hallam my NOS Mint single conical with red core like that(but unsplit) for his collection~ Dang I wonder if anyone has the WHOLE display with the OG acrylic case that lit up from the bottom with the blue and red Gyro logo on it~ Whoever does, that's a jewel of it's own!!!
