I know what you mean Paul... ever since I jumped ship from BMX to skating... Ive noticed its a lot easier to travel with a board than a bike!  I too take a BDS when Im out of town... Thats what Ive found is so great about skating... Anything can be turned into a full session!  Way to go on finding those abandoned car parks!  Ours are guarded like Fort Knox here...

Tuk & AJ,

Those are amazing and mine pales in comparison but I love it just the same. Now it's all beat up and has bottle green dub cons for urban assaults.

The deal with this one is that the trucks are 1 of 1 prototype Webb Shogo's.  The only set of Webb Shogo's in yellow!  Check out the risers too!

I've always had a real liking for the Flores', but this thing is over-the-top hot!

Tuk- be careful with those soft risers that you are using on the Flores. They ruin the graphic underneath (they somehow bond with the screen and then distort it when removed). I learned this the hard way on a Mint SC Hosoi Collage a year or so ago...

What are the dimensions; length, width, and wheelbase on the Flores deck? Also, is there any concave or is it flat?

Thanks,

g

33x11 19.5 wheelbase I think, yes it has some concave. Z13 deck was an updated version with more tail and shorter wheelbase.

hey,
I'd recommend Indy 169/Webb Mike Smiths with the Ray Flores deck.
The 215's are just too wide.
The Flores deck was my favorite for a long time.
If you're just into carving/surf-style, the short tail shouldn't be an issue.
The concave on the Flores deck was steeper than on the subsequent
Z-13 deck.

Thanks TonyB and CO!

Being I moved the rear truck BACK 3/4" on my Z13 (1st gen) sounds like the Flores might be a good fit.

How steep is the concave  up towards the nose? Is it similar to the 2nd gen Long Pig? I rode the new Long Pig at Ripon and really liked the "pocket" for my front foot.

Can't really answer that one G - I don't have a Long Pig...but there was a bit of rocker(nose to tail) introduced into the new mold for the second generation of Z13, Long Pig, Super Pig decks, so maybe thats what you are referring to, which is not on the Flores as far as I can tell. The Flores seems to have more concave than a Z13 though as Chris said.

Just saw a good picture of the concave on a Flores. It's much more pronounced than on the Chief or 2nd Gen Long Pig.

The concave on the Flores is greater then the

Z-13. The Flores have a shorter up lifting tail.

Much to short for the weight and length of the

board, it gives the board a very heavy feel for

it's size.

The nose of the board doesn't really flat'n out

until it reaches the front truck bolts.

My ramp board has Shogo's with Indy 215's

My Bowl board has Dub Con's with Indy 169's

They've both been my only ride for the past

three years..............

I have modified the placement of the rear truck though.

I moved it forward 3/4" to give the board a lighter feel by adding more tail.

It has in no way hurt the performance of the deck.

seya,

C'dub

I would think 169s would perform better on a halfpipe. Much less turning radius with 169s & dubs, than 215s & shogos. That's a wide combo to whip around.
