I would think 169s would perform better on a halfpipe. Much less turning radius with 169s & dubs, than 215s & shogos. That's a wide combo to whip around.

It comes down to simple Geometry.

A truck with a shoter length axel will have a smaller turning radius.

Thus, the 169 would turn better then the 215 for sure.

The Flores is my hands down favorite BDS deck. Mellow concave all the way to the nose, short tail, and STIFF. My skating improved significantly once I started riding a Flores. The shape and design is pretty much ideal for me.

Previous decks:

Quad 10
GasHead II
Long Pig 1st gen
Shogo Long Board
Quad 12 (abominized to 11" wide)
Z13

Only the Z13 remains an (infrequent) street rider. I sold all of the other decks.

Now rolling on the Flores and boy is she pretty!  All in good shape, had minimal use from the previous own.  Gassers still have the little ridges on them.  Great story came from the hot chick....errr, owner I met today.  She rocks up with the music blasting from her ride, this sweet little thing steps out, tattoos all down her arms and back and she's holding a sweet sweet board.....maaaaan, what a sight!  She's hooked up already before you ask and I don't step on another mans shoes.  Just wish she had taken the shades off so I could of stared into those mince pies.

Anyways, back in 2003 she used to work in a skate shop as a technician, sweet,  the Flores was hanging in the shop at the time, shop gets bought out, closes down, boyfriend cheers her up by getting her the Flores, live happily ever after.......until they split.  Classic tale of love, loss and sweet chicks with boards I thought!  Was too big for her and she just kept it sitting there until fate brought it my way.

So now this puppy is mine and hopefully in due course I'll show it to you all.  The set-up so far,

Flores deck in great condition, some small scrapes and plenty of dust.
Tracker 219 trucks, no grinds....yet!
Gassers, orange rolling with bones reds.

Loving the grip, what's the story with that?  All looks sweet with the lotus flower, and then the (dread saying it for fear of retribution) sperm shaped cut-outs looking like the stuff has run down my leg onto the deck coz the ride is just that  ####### nuts kinda ####!

Anyways, brought back memories of my custom Run DMC grip I had on my SS Chris Miller many moons ago, stenciled it all over, it was the #### too........although completely different.

Just felt the need to write a little about my day, hope this was/is the right place to do it........if not, what do I care!  I had a nice little ride today.  Hope you did too.

My Flores...
Ditches, banks, older parks, you know- the rough, uneven stuff.
I'm sure I would use it at Baldy, not much nose ahead of the trucks.
Indy 215's-
BDS Skull Waves.....

Thinking of putting some Indy 215' on the Flores or maybe some Krux 'The Man'.  There's some cheap, for the UK, Tracker 184' going on ebay which is tempting.

I see the jury's been out for a few decades on the Indy/Tracker thing.  What floats your boat?

Still having trouble posting images, when I try to post a link I get 'Your browser requires that you must select some text for this function to work'......what's that??!!

I'm now in my new home and found out yesterday that there is a project underway to build a bowl two miles from me.......bring on the hippers!  Can't wait to pump again, pushing is killing my achilles!

Got my Ray Flores yesterday.  Awesome looking ride. I plan to run Ace 66 trucks, Orange Mini Dubs.  Plan to move the back trucks forward about 3/4ths. Indy 215's seem to wide, 169's may go that route if the 66's don't work out.  Need to move and go buy some hardware.

66's are just wider than 169's. That might be the way to go with mini's. I had mine set up with 169's and dub's. 215's and minis may be good also.

I totally agree with the idea of moving the back truck forward.  I did the same with mine and it did help.  That is my only problem with this deck.  I like more leverage in the tail.  Mine was set up with 169's and dragons.

I think I could even go 1 inch forward on the back trucks. I pretty much am set on a 60 mm wheels. I also thought of 169 front 215 back. I want the set up to be park ready. Allways appreciate the suggestions. Was thinking of wedging the front truck. But the Aces turn quickly.
