OK.. Sorry I didn't respond yesterday.

First off.. Yes it is 3 layers, and as far as the wheel wells..

Since I do not know who made this deck (I have an email in to the Ebay seller)
I'll have to wait for a true answer back if he knows.

Maybe the craftsmen that make these types of decks either cut these
wheel wells to distinguish the repo's from the real deal really quickly
by just the wheel well cut and size??????

Or the wheel wells are cut before the drilling of the mounting holes
and sometimes they're off a little???  Or they don't really care if you
plan on riding the deck or not... Who knows..

This one is not as nice as Mike Hess models. The graphics are all tape
(and that was not in the description on Ebay) but I didn't pay the same
price as the Hess Models either, so I kinda knew before it got here that
it was not going to an exact replica.

I wish I had the talent and the time to make my own repo's. I'll never
be able to afford the real deal and since I use most of the deck for studio
work, I don't plan on riding them, but it sure would be nice to see someone
start to reproduce these SIMS decks like ALVA is doing. And then if we could get
Kryptonics to re-run the Alba decks and Santa Cruz to put out the Stinger and
Kanoa to put out the Bobby Valdez Tri-Beam..

Oh and let's not forget Dogtown to put out the Tri Plane and Shogo also..

In a perfect world....

Ok --- well here is some info on the board

I am the original owner, myself and SCO paid Hess to make the boards - he made 2 or 3 like the one you now own. I gave the board to Dave Hackett, took it to his place -- bull shitted a bunch and left.
After Hess made this 3 ply, he claimed he could do a more correct 5 ply. The wheel wells were done by hand with a make shift sanding tool he crafted. All Hess decks are made with vinyl cut transfers.
