It not that it's too big, I was still in the process of moving it around to get it fit directly over the old one. After discussions with a sign painter two roads could be taken to fix the K.. One of course was to sand it down and then have it airbrushed back on. Time consuming and costly for this type of project. The other was to copy the K and have a decal made up. Sign painter did a trace of the K and then copied it into his computer for the final printing. Since my K-Beam back in the day had a red K I had him print up one Wedgewood Blue and the other in Red. He matched the color best he could since the K was faded from the 30 years of sunlight. I did bring him a couple of the different Kryptonics ads for the K-Beam and he scanned those in and came up with the Wedgewood Blue as a 98% match. So if I can find better clear grip, I'll replace the Blue K with the Red one. The font for the lettering is a whole other story. I have two different sign painters looking for that font but as of today no luck. There are some that are VERY close, but not a spot on match. If found I'll have both decals and stencils made up for any future projects.

Yea I know Indy's..Salba an Indy rider, I know, I know. I have never ridden a set of Indy's. I don't know why, just always had Trackers. I wanted to get the last complete that I ever skated back in 1980 before I dropped out of the scene for 5 years. I even remember how much I paid for it in Oct. of 1979 : $ 68.38. Steve Alba K-Beam with Tracker Ex-Tracks and the Green 66CX's. It was the first board that I had to pay for in a long time. Since I rode for and gave lessons at Fyber Ryder Skatepark the team members would get the first of anything new and of course we hardly ever paid. But I had to get a real job once I graduated high school which meant I had no time to hang around the park. So I had to quit the team which meant I was now a paying customer. I had to wait three weeks for the deck to get to Jersey and I remember picking it up and putting it together in the pro shop, taking the first ride on it on a cool Oct night in Jersey. It's not perfect but I had fun fixing this one up and maybe one day I'll be able to afford a cleaner K-Beam. MS

Can't remember if it came gripped or if I put the grip on it myself, but it did have the clear pizza grip on it.

OK here is the start of Sims superlight I picked up off the Bay, I won the bid at 185 I think but have high hopes on its turn out Obviously someone painted the hell out of this thing and then made clear background stickers as graphics. I hope the original ones are underneath proving it is a OG Sims superlight? Here are pics of the beginning of this job sorry I dont know why I didnt take a pic of the bottom before I started sanding

Here is the bottom after some sanding there was a little bit of the OG logo when I stoped you can make out the M and Some of the S and just a little bit of the left side wing. Also if you look close you can make out some of the black superlight lettering. Stoped to take some pics and mark the placement of the logo to replace it exactly where it originaly was. I will be sanding the top today. Pretty stoked so far. I got nice wood

I know the font. I have it from House Industries. Can't think of the name off the top of my head (Filmore?) but I know that I have it. And even if they don't have it, any sign man worth a shit can duplicate a font exactly if they have an example. I know I can. zant

As far as the SIMS font goes it looks alot like microbus to me and perhaps a version of eurostile would do it too.
