SWEET,  I never saw this before!

Likewise. Cool trophy, the window of my Mom's garage still sports a Murph decal like #4.

hand's down, Rick's work inspired me more than any other artist..once i saw his work i realized there really was an legitimate place in the art world for me (i've been told our style's are somewhat similar)...his imagination was uncanny, his line work perfect, i still awe at his detail work, so smooth, flowy...similar to watching T. Curren surf J-Bay, nobody else could have done it better..I love Wes's art as well, as i do countless other artist's, i think i just relate to R.G.'s style the most...i believe that grateful dead 'surfing skeleton' art is another take on the poster art he did for chris bystrom's movie 'Blazing Boards'...the skeleton carving backside in the forefront is in the same stance as the surfer in the B.B. poster...the surfer's here know what i'm talkin' about...

He was a huge inspiration for me growing up. Without him, I doubt I would be an artist today.

With just 24 hours before a bulldozer is due to destroy two previously unknown murals by surf artist Rick Griffin, two old fans organize a rescue effort

Ricks work is like Wes's just looking at it makes me "HIGH" ~ good read on the above link
