I totally dig the SIMS board on page 70 of 'BUILT TO GRIND' the book by INDY.  The wheel wells are massive!  I think it says 'LAMAFLEX' on it?  I think its the same SIMS (different rider) on the contents page, which is page 4.  What a totally killer design!  Now if that could be remade in 12'' or bigger!

Jeff

EDIT:  I was wrong, same rider on both SIMS decks.... Peter "Kiwi" Gifford.

I said "I think Biniak rode for Sims for wile" I'm not 100% sure. before he's Logan model & yes Jim & I were talking about re-issuing all the 70's DTS board's.
Nice shot Armando!!

10" by 33" of inlaid wood Heaven...

It would cost a small fortune to make these like they did back then...

There is something very cool about diamond tails...

They make me wiggly inside...

Wow!  A bit labor intensive for sure!  How did those boards hold up Pimp?

Surprisingly good ! Mine took a good beating ,imagine a 14 years old skating ?!?!,,considering that the taperkicks in general where delicate, specially the first ones, like the 36 inch one.

I rode it in pools ,parks etc... and never broke. We didn't mind having a few chips here and there back then. A board was good until a car ran over,or was stolen.

After that , they gave me a kryptonic foam board. No good !!! it lasted a month tops?!?!?.

Always like wood,DT,ALVA,and SIMS or the z-woody's

Amazing what some people have for surprises !

You guys got me wanting to ride the Sims machine. Here's my 36" Taperkick at Santa Paula on Sunday. It was fun and such a pretty stick with the sun aged varnish.  I'm running the red Dragons on it and they offer the super silent, smooth, surf-vibe ride on this thing. Sorry for the foto quality:

Later on I switched to the deadly Red Sims Snakes. check these trucks, I think Indy Stage I or II in the front and tracker on the back
