yeah...but they don't let you pay $17 each time you go, do they?
it's the upfront $$ that hurts.
gonna be real expensive per session if ya only go 5 times...

That's how they make the $$$. Those that don't go, lose, and there are more of them....
But if you use it 30 days, you really win!

BDS should make a snowboard.

I can see it now, split tail, bungee strap high backs, and a fin. I'd ride the hell out of it.

Seriously who else is making old school snowboards? I would plunk down some cash for an old school style BDS snowboard.

That`s a seriously sick line Terje took in that vid, probably near Valdez in an area called "The Books" cuz the peaks stand up straight like a vertical row of them. It`s so steep that in one turn he puts his hand out not even straight and touches the slope. We used to look at that terrain and wish someday, but that costs big $$ and it`s a long way from the highway.

Being in our mid to late 20s, we were dirtbagging it a bit and had to stay kinda close to the highway corridor (as well as camping in snowcaves sometimes) to get our runs in, but the terrain was still steep as hell. One day I went with some other locals I knew and in the plane ride introduced myself to this dude I didn`t know. Said he was Adam from Brooklyn and I said right on that`s a long ways away, but welcome and glad you`re here. He wasn`t as mountain savvy as us, but kept up pretty good and we all had some great runs. Later on, my buds told me he was Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys and I thought how cool, he was just one of the bros that day riding powder.

David, you think a lift ticket is costly, heli time in an A-Star averages $100/run if you stay within 15-20 min from the base pad! In the early days of Valdez we were getting forty dollar heli rides and twenty bucks got you a dropoff from the Beaver (DeHavilland plane w/skis) onto the glacial plateau. The runs averaged 3500-4500 feet in vertical drop, ALL IN POWDER!!

Now, am I ready for winter? Fuck NO! But hey, it`s six months long up here sometimes so it doesn`t matter anyway.
