"I see it's been raining at Whistler"

last thursday night brought 48 cm of snow to whistler. so much that the top of the mountain stayed closed on friday.  on friday another 40 or so cm fell.  sat jan 16 there was a meter  (49 inches) or so of untouched snow on most of the mountain and blue skys. that was the best conditions i have ever seen! the lineups however were also some of the largest i have seen
sunday night brought another foot.  so there is lots of snow at whistler!

Good to see they finally got some snow.

I was out there for a 4 day trip a few years ago.  The top was closed 2 out of the 4 days due to white out conditions.  Totally worth it, though, when you can finally get up there and hit the waist deep pow.

That place is just incredible.  So much awesome terrain.  Also fun to go peak to base without stopping and feel the burn.

I was with a young local who was showing me some powder stashes near the end of the day.  Then, on the last run, she says let's go peak to valley.  I really didn't want to, but the challenge was made, so I had to do it.  Deep pow at the peak to slush at the base.  This was less than a year after I broke my ankle skating, so it was pretty gratifying to be able to do it.  I'm pretty sure I couldn't do it now.

It's soooo fucking ON!  Kirkwood has not even opened up any chairs but the mid mountain. If they get 6 or 10 open today! It will be EPIC!

This is where I've spent just about every day of the past month...
Dialed in my BS 360s super clean, and have most rails down.
The nice part is, when I tweak my back I can take it easy & skate.

yeah...but they don't let you pay $17 each time you go, do they?
it's the upfront $$ that hurts.
gonna be real expensive per session if ya only go 5 times...

I guess the pass is working out, 9 days so far
