I have a couple of the original small stickers on my Norcon helmet from the late 1970’s. Here's a larger one stuck to the last board I got in 1979

Oh and seeing as you asked and mentioned it Paly - Go Fuck Yourself

Got one more guy to talk to...
But GREAT INFO..... I think 70s. Tony and especially
Skate&Create have it spot on.
1978-79-ish thinner 1st series black boarder...
Late 1980s with DTS rail package sales put in DTS sticker
with broader, darker, thicker black boarder.
And would make sense with improved technology....

So all are OG, just seems earlier 1978-79 version and "8-10yr?" later version....

Mine like most are later version.... Per notes paid $31 for 3 in July 2010.....

PALY,

First question:

How does a broader, darker, thicker black border make "more sense" with "improved technology?" I find the difference in usually in the paper stock. Some stickers used stock no longer available.

Second question:

In your experience, how can you tell the difference between broader and thicker?

I don't see a difference other than the bigger stickers seems to have a slightly thinner border.

Interesting point on larger sticker vs smaller 2 inch.
Wonder what size 70skaters are. Shows difference.
Agree, stock/paper would be improved as well....

Broader, thicker black is simply word semantics.
No idea if thicker, just looks thicker and broader.

Logical that technology may have improved 1979 to 1986-88
with the new stickers DTS issued in Rail package inserts per
skate&create.

I HAVE NO IDEA.... surprised so many NOS 1979 DTS stickers around then.
I am happy with thicker border probably issued later for now......

Do you have any decks that you believe the sticker FOR SURE was put on
in the 1978-79 days?
Cheers

My stickers are 4".  Looks like the ones on SM Dog's Big Foot and the ones you have, Paly, are the smaller ones.  So, yours might be OG as well?
