I do not collect thinking that I am going to get rich off of it down the road. That's silly! I buy what I like and want at the time and then enjoy the hell out of my purchase. My 2cents GLWS TOTP MOFO'S

Not really sure how or why this turned into a collection of opinions on values and collecting philosophies? While I do find some of it entertaining and some quite eye rolling....I just want to bring it back to the topic. I'm looking to see if there is any interest in these Grails I've enjoyed for a few years now. Yes, I listed the price I paid as a reference point for interested parties who may want to contact me for photos and or to discuss pricing. Cheers.

Talking of Star Wars, my son has kept all his original stuff and it is worth a ton now - I'm talking house deposit money. They were his birthday and Christmas presents when he was around 11. Sorry Cody, had to drop that one in. But agree, buying skate stuff as an investment, why would you.

If your talking about Car paints or Hand Draws -- you are talking about collectibles. I know when I "see" stuff, its much easier to get me to buy it. You posted words about collectible skate gear. And....well your getting lots of words back!! GLWS!!

Here is a bump for Cody's deck sale. do not lower your prices, it is ok, be patient. I am glad the pricing discussion has come to life. We have a matrix on BDS somewhere showing the approximate value & production date of every deck. I think Pimp or Tony B. or Brian made it. In any case it is time to update that matrix and 're-up' the value of the art work Wes has dedicated his life to. I am proud of my collection and look forward to continuing this debate. If and when I have a moment I will search, but I am sure you/Tony can find it in seconds. More to come mates! KP

Hey Keith - I put these together a few years ago with help from various members, including Tony, 300, and Harry. That said, no values were included - and the initial sales price, even if known, was intentionally left off. Regular decks: http://bulldogskates.websitetoolbox.com/post/list-of-bdabds-decks-8125188?pid=1292398937 Car paints: http://bulldogskates.websitetoolbox.com/post/car-paint-summary-6227511?pid=1295813525 If you're referencing something else, disregard. Value for these, and it's no disrespect to Wes, fluctuates. And a few fire sales we've had have not helped, which is why I appreciate when guys try to hold the value (e.g., Cody and joepa). There isn't as large of a market here as there once was (fewer buyers here and sites such as eBay, so lower demand), so prices now are down a bit (or a lot). That doesn't diminish the quality or appreciation of Wes's artwork, but rather reflects things the way they are now. As others have mentioned, I've never bought a single deck for an investment, but for the appreciation and enjoyment they bring. Unless and until there's an influx of more than the current 4 or 5 steady buyers, the pricing isn't going to rebound anytime soon. I've had decks listed here for weeks to several months that I know aren't easily available and seldom receive a single offer or PM on any of them. These gems that Cody has available would be great to have for those who don't have one and who also have the disposable cash available. Those two things don't always go together. In our small BDS micro-economy, the fire sales set the floor...and the link darb posted is an exact example of that. Guys will look at that, whether posted for them like here or by searching themselves, and will think, "The Z13 is now a $600 deck. Either Cody will sell it for that or I'm not buying it." That hurts everyone here who has a collection worth anything. I'm not faulting anyone who's had to do the fire sales as I've been fortunate to not be in their position to have to make that decision, but I am saying it definitely has hurt. Kudos to Cody for hanging in there as he's not forced to sale.
