Prayers for everyone along the coast. We're an hour inland and it's still slamming us. Power off & on several times. On now. Hoping for the best. This one is historic.

Outer edges of the storm clouds over eastern Wisconsin causing halo around the full moon.

Winds starting to pick up here.  Lots more tomorrow with big, gnarly surf.

got a quick word from my brother last night. His basement was flooded completely full and his apartment is on the first floor with about 8 inches of water. He couldn't really assess what the damage was with no lights, but he says it is a bunch. I don't know how they could have gotten every thing off the floor. Sound recording equipment, musical instruments, dozens of computers..... a real mess. Strangest thing is that growing up in FL, this is the first hurricane that he has had to deal with.

Sun setting on the western edge of Sandy, somewhere west of Milwaukee.  Clouds were swirling overhead all day.  Didn't see the sun till it set.

Sister's house in NJ flooded, of course.

Amazing Pictures....
Pictures never give the full impact.
Was around several California disasters, Oakland Fire, Earthquake of 1989...
Its just different in person. Sounds, smells, changes. Very Painful........

Hope all safe, and sorry to hear of friends families in distress.

Amazing the early warnings of Sandy and fantastic accuracy.
Saved many I am sure...

Aint that the truth. I haven't seen breaks like that since about 1986 at Cocoa beach following another hurricane. Most of the time we get a few hours of good and then pure soup.
