My bro was at the skatepark in Sitka Alaska today and sent me this photo.
Says the word is that "Tony Hawk and Wes Humpston of Bulldog skates funded the skate park" - quoted from his email - [cool]

Thought that was pretty cool and told him to be sure to school his kids on skateboarding history pointing out the many contributions of the legendary skate figure who helped to make the park possible and that I wasn't referring to Mr. Hawk. [biggrin]

That`s awesome Tom. Any word if the park is covered? Sitka can be a very wet place.

Props to Big Dawg and the Hawk!

Yea, rains all the time but sure is beautiful. Great fly fishing and back country adventure as well.

As far as the park, I think it was pretty obvious that it would see a lot more use if they covered it and based on the last email he sent me it appears that they finally built something and went BIG...ALASKA STYLE!...

Here is a pic...Big ass structure built like a tank...probably cost more to build than the park. [eek]

nice structure. I should build more like that!
very cool Tom.
The snow load is taken care of with all that steel.
some of the 60's & 70's flower & farmers markets of northern italy had that aesthetic.
They build big rooms with no walls, like a train station.
Thanks for the insight and Wes, way to be in the center.
