I was just thinking about all those great places that we skated as  kids. The Concrete Wave in Anaheim,Skateboard World in Torrance,Steves South Bay in Torrance,Carlsbad, the Oasis in San Diego.Even the ditches and bowls like the channel or the  barbiturate bowl in Palos Verdes.Anyone else have any favorites?

Vernon Valley Skatepark in NJ

These were the only local parks at the time. Sure wish we knew about Cherry Hill at the time.

Ahhhh...memories.
Loved Skateboard World in Torrance. They had a awesome half-pipe. Was kinda far, so had to depend on friends Mom to take us there:

I grew up down the street from Aloha Skatetown, but cant find my ID card. Jungleland was cool, but tough to skate. Out towards Thousand Oaks, there was also "The Field House". I think I saw a pic ONCE of it in a skatemag...it was pretty mellow:

One of my faves, but would seem really weird now, was Skatercross.
It was a snake run through a old A&W drive-in. Jayboy would rip that place. Dig my 70's hair:

Ive got a few other cards from: Skatopia (another place we'd have to rely on somebody's parent taking us to) and others. I will post 'em later.
We even had a cool ditch we called "the wash" Gone now!

First back yarder was the rat hole in Yorba Linda Ca.  First park the Concrete Wave (only once).  The place I skated the most was the Big O.  We found my little brothers ID when I was home last Nov.  Some of you skated with him at Coronado.  Its hard to believe its the same guy.  I taught him how to skate in the 70s now he tries to teach me,  poor kid.
