It's a meaningless question without the context.  But you're a bright guy and you know that.

And I don't know which of your two questions Shackleford answered.  [rofl]

I don't think it's racist, Facts are Facts & the Truth Hurts!

Mike, your comments on racism in Africa are politically motivated, but they don't warrant that. I worked as a coffee trader in Zaire, when Mobutu was the 4th richest person on the planet and the aver annual wage was $200.

As a business, we invested heavily into the country and it's people, but were thwarted at every turn by the president, his sons and their coterie. Eventually, we had to pack up and go. Along the way, we met many black Africans that we admired and loved. We didn't want to leave them.

Against all that, the fact was, the country was a shithole absolutely. It was because the President made it so. Many of the people were genuine, and we did all we could to bring their standard of living up, but against the backdrop of corruption there was not much we could do. The fact is, they thought it was a shithole and we wish we could have brought many of them and their families with us back home.

But - the state of their countries has nothing to do with either the colour of their skin, or President Trump, but everything to do with their own leaders. I wonder if many of them are crying out for someone to call it as it is in their own country, because at least it puts their leaders on notice that the most powerful country in the world is not happy with their abject failure.

Just a thought.

Yes, Hank.  In mathematics, the asterisk (*)is used for a number of different purposes, the most common of which is to denote multiplication so, for example, 2 * 3 = 2 X 3 = 6. In computer science, the asterisk is commonly used as a wildcard character, or to denote pointers, repetition, or multiplication.  I do computer work, so kind of a habit.

So my use of "*2" means the same thing as your use of "X2".  Times two.  By two. Agree.  Me too (uh oh, better not go down that path).  It's all good.  But no one here would want to be accused of splitting hairs or being contrarian just for the sake of it.  I mean, I've used "*2"here dozens of times without a single question.  [biggrin]

i must be tired. My use of x2, as used many times on this forum, was to agree with Wes' assessment of your rebuttal of the brightredmegaphone's response to the question at hand.

got it?

Yes, I "got it".  My use of "no surprises here, *2", was in reply to (I wish I could type real slow for you, try reading slow, but that might not help if you're tired): 1, Wes agreeing aaaaaannnnnddddd 2, you agreeing with it.  So I wasn't surprised by either (grand total of 2) response.  So, *2.  Got it??

Michael's response missed my point, not the president's.  He addressed his response to me.  See how that works?  I'm pretty sure you guys are capable of forming your own opinions on the presidents comments as you both agreed with Michael's assessment (also known as an opinion) of the president's comments based on his experiences.  I'm pretty sure I'm capable of forming mine, even if they differ.  Why don't we just leave it at that?
