"Most experts say that it could take between four decades and a century to eliminate the impact of the Fukushima disaster."

While I agree that dumping radioactive shit into the water is generally a bad idea. I have to keep in mind that there are people out there who will exagerate the situation, and others will try to minimize it.

Maybe we can just feed sushi to Joel every day and keep an eye on him.... If he starts looking jacked up, then we start worrying.

The ocean has been abused and over fished and dumped in ever since humans graced this planet. Mostly, its has been able to handle and dillute most of all organic by products and even most of the inorganics including mercury, oil and chemicals. What it's having the hardest issue with is warming waters causing many micro species and plankton, etc to be interrupted and/or eliminated completely causing eco imbalances and mutations, etc. But again, we're humans so we're concerned only when it impacts us. And you wonder how these things ever happen. We're still arguing about climate change! I doubt that has anything to do with the increase of catostrophic weather events-probably just a fluke. Humans have only evolved to the point of short term investments whether monetary or emotional-we dig our own hole that's for sure. Most of us are short sighted when it comes to the big picture. I was raised to be a good steward of our home, but hardly hear of anyone of the same mindset. I've still passed it on to my children though.

No wonder the Japanese market for Atlantic Blue Fin is so overpriced? I guess we keep an eye on Wentzle as he has been catching some awesome Ahi lately on Maui.
